The room isn’t worth the price; extremely small room. The internet was so slow that I couldn’t work, watch a show, or do anything productive. I had to go to the hallway to load a webpage or show. Walls are very thin and it’s loud outside. You can’t control the temperature in the room so we had to open the windows for fresh air, but then you hear everything from outside. Honestly, for how much I paid I am very disappointed. Plus, we had a special package and had late check out until 2pm. The front desk girl banged on our door at 12 and told us she would give us half an hour to leave. I showed her my phone with a screen shot of our reservation and she just walked away rudely. When we checked in, the same girl was working: she didn’t give us any information about breakfast or just general information about the hotel like you usually receive when you check in to a hotel. Honestly, I’m just not impressed, especially with the lack of customer service skills the front desk girl had. If she was pleasant and acted in a professional manner, it would have easily changed my opinion and perception of the hotel. Good customer service skills is definitely a must in this industry and unfortunately this hotel just doesn’t have it. On a positive note, the room was modern and clean.

Cozy hotel, tidy rooms and clean, the hotel is located near the city centre and a lot of restaurants. Good to enjoy the weekend in Zurich.

I would like to thank your staff for finding my camera battery pack that I left in my room. Armando (?) was so amiable when he presented it to me. It made my day!
I will tell my friends and colleagues that if they're in Zurich, to look up your Hotel Platzhirsch -- it's central, bars and restaurants are around and full of energy.

Really friendly staff, very welcoming. I upgraded to a room with a balcony, which was really pleasant when the weather was good. The hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the centre of the old town, with easy access to everything. The rooms are well set out, if a little tight, but that is to be expected in a refurbished old building right in the centre of all things.

Not a bad hotel it's very nice but we didn't like their system of taking money off your card as a holding fee (this is the only hotel we have encountered this with) and I say it's an issue because it's not a deposit off the price. It is given back however as backpackers it took nearly two weeks to come back to us which over €110 euro does make a difference and this caused us issues. It would be better if that amount was not refunded but then Taken off the price at the end of your stay.

Certainly a top location. We stayed over New Year's eve and enjoyed our stay. Rooms are a bit too small – but well designed. Unfortunately we could hear and feel the bass / music from the groundfloor bar. Recommend the hotel for its easy going atmosphere. Receptionist was courteous and helpful. She gave us useful travel tipps for Switzerland.

We were pretty shocked how the bar keepers treated us. The bar was half empty, we had two drinks each and as soon as our glasses were empty we were asked to order the next. When we said that we are ok for the moment they started to treat us badly. I live 12 years in Zurich now and never have treated that bad in a bar. Never gonne be back again

The Platzhirsch has a really friendly, family feel to it. The staff are sincerely charming and efficient. The location is perfect in the heart of the charming old town without suffering from noise pollution. Delicious and varied breakfast and a well stocked and lively bar in the evening.

Not a very nice plaxe to stop for a drink nor food. The quiche was tasty but I felt that the staffs did not want my presence. No apologies for dirty silverware, drink I ordered was left out as if I did not ordered with no apologies, and the price in the menu was different from the bill. No explanation to that also.
