5 floors of books, stationery and gifts. English books on top floor. Starbucks cafe inhouse.

Until they put their customer service and accounting department in order – steer clear of it. Not my exact idea of excellence. :D

Lovely bookshop. Visit a couple of times a year..usually to stock up on books before a holiday. Really good selection. Nice space too with seating scattered about. Also stock hellmans mayo and a small selection of other imported food stuffs/sweets.

Undoubtedly one of the best book stores in Zürich. But that's not all, they also have a few card and boardgames on the first floor! Mostly in German.

Besides the (sad) fact that it is the one and only big bookstore in town (not counting little 2nd hand sellers), this sort of mall for the intellectual pop class is a pretty decent offer if you are in need of some quick reading fix.
At the English Language dept., do not expect rare and hard to find treasures, neither risky or surprising titles. It is all about "classics", "best sellers" and the like. Yet, I must say that their Politics and Philosophy shelfs are reasonbly assorted.

Wonderful place for English readers. Despite having only one out of 4 storeys dedicated to books in English, the crammed shelves still contain many fantastic treasures. The scientific section is a hidden gem, less displayed than the popular & fantasy department.

The best place to buy books I know so far in Zurich. Big one, organized, with helpful staff, often pretty busy.

I have some personal issues with this bookshop chain, but I have to say they have excellent selection and it's a very pleasant shop in general. Four levels chock full of books (Level 3 is all English language literature), book & travel paraphernalia, cards and gimmicks. I don't think I've ever managed to go in and out without buying anything.

They've got nice chairs and couches to sit and leaf through a book, a Starbucks and restrooms.

I have to say, though, the travel section was much better while they still had The Bookshop on Bahnhofstrasse. Now there are far fewer books and their mixed with the German language ones.

One of the most extensive bookstores in Zürich. Several floors, a whole floor for English books. The English floor is especially nice with a glass ceiling. Nice and helpful personnel. Not just books, also other little things that make great gifts. Maybe a bit expensive.
