Very authentic, good Food quality. Ask for All you Can Eat Buffet on Weekend (very pricy for Switzerland and cosy), excelkent staff and truly japanese people :) , no WiFi for Restaurant guests.

We (35f, 39m) visited this restaurant in April on a Saturday evening and felt compelled to leave some remarks
positive: good food in nicely furnished rooms with a panoramic view. Nice and forthcoming waitress.
negative: when we asked for an alternative to the two offered menus (167 and 305 CHF per person w/o drinks) we were asked in a rather insolent tone, whether the prices would be too expensive for us. We asked for the other menus published on the website (79 and 130 CHF) and immediately a laptop was brought to the table for proving us to be wrong: These menus would only be served in the à la carte-Restaurant which 'unfortunately' would be totally booked-out. Ultimately we were told that our reservation call was recorded on tape and that we were therefore bound to eat at the 'Gourmet'-Restaurant. It goes without saying that we were not informed about the recording process during the call. When we told the owner that we would prefer to leave rather than to further stress his 'hospitability' miracolously a free table turned up in the 'totally overbookef' à la carte As for giving no offense we took the table.
Epilogue: Very strange beginning of an evening we were initialy very much looking forward to. Never experienced this kind if 'hospitability' and as we won't come back to this place again - hopefully we will not experience the likewise in the future.response / report this review -

Honestly one of my favourite places in Switzerland! It's always a highlight for me to go there. Lovely view across Aargau to Üetliberg, wonderfully nice and motivated waiters and absolutely outstanding food.
I'm very picky with sushi and I write private reviews of every visit I pay to sushi restaurants. At restaurant hasenberg the rice is always perfectly made, fish is top quality, fish/rice ratio is perfect and the nori is fresh and crisp as it's supposed to be.
I visit the place since years and I loved sushi from the old chef at the sushi bar but I'm equally excited about the new sushi bar chef too. I'm usually more fond of traditional sushi (as far as I'm able to judge what's traditional ;) but I absolutely love the 'fancier' creations of the new sushi chef.
On top of it, we always love the interesting and funny anecdotes about the japanese origins of the food the manager of the restaurant tells us.
It's always a very sophisticated but merry atmosphere there. I'm already excited about my next visit!response / report this review -
