Perfect for your basic camping needs in the Swiss Alps. Although the shower block are a short walk over road, not a busy one, the facilities are well maintained and of a good quality. Friendly atmosphere and good customer service.

We stayed here for two night on our trip around Europe. Very cheap in comparisson to other swiss campsites. Clean showers and toilets and hot water. Every morning the horse drawn carriges went past which was lovely to see. We spent a day hiking up Pazolastock and down to lake Tomee which took around 4hrs. Would also recommend driving the furka pass and stoping at the ice grotto in the Rhone Glacier. Andermatt a lovely little town.

Besides the stunning natural surroundings, this campground was terrible. It is literally just a grass field next to the main road: no trees or even shrubs or any form of privacy. I'm pretty certain the "campground" serves as a parking lot in the winter for the ski resort. Worst of all, the facilities are across the street and are small and cramped. How is it that this cost us $30 for one night??? However, it is the ONLY campground in or near Andermatt, so if you absolutely have to stay somewhere before climbing a pass, I guess it might as well be here.

For mobile homes and caravans the campground looks like a large parking on grass, but pitches are at least flat. Nice view over the mountains, very friendly tenants who are not always on the place, but are reachable per email or mobile phone. Make sure to have at least 20 meter electricity cables (CE plugs) as poles are scarce. Bathroom and amenities are basic and clean, free hot shower. Great starting point for all nearby passes and all facilities (banks, restaurants, supermarkets) are to be found in charming Andermatt.

Super nette Leute, sehr zuvorkommend und gute Preis/Leistung. Waschräume und Duschen sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen aber sauber und gepflegt, 24h Zugang - Nachts schön Ruhig

It's a very basic 'campground' - but the only one in the area so if you need to stop there's not much of a choice.

Basically the car park of the gondola (not much skiing going on during summer..) it offers electricity, basic sanitary facilities and a place to stop-over before heading further into the alps.

Bit pricy for what you get.
Next time round we'll probably stop a few kms further east at the Oberalp-Pass. Plenty space to park next to the lake (and quite a few other campers as well).

Terrible, desolate patch of grass and cable car parking area with a lovely view of the main road. Maybe it's more appealing when you arrive at dark but we took off again immediately.

I've used it 3 times over the years passing through the Alps on camping trips. It's well situated if you are into riding (motorbike/cycle) or driving the local roads. The site is a field next to the main road through town. The facilities are over the other side of the road several minutes away. It's okay but not for you if you like the nicer sites with lots of facilities.

Popular with cyclists and bikers good for a stopover. Google pin is in the wrong place, the campsite is actually to the west of the village, at the cable car station. Poor facilities.
