The bar where you can find all kind of people, from familly to uni students. The place is a bit loud but in summer you can enjoy the spacious terrasse outside.

An institution in Lausanne, especially during summer time when one can hang out on the terrasse. Nice burgers, but everyone is here mainly for beer! One of the busiest place in town for sure

Always bursting with people spilling out into the streets, this is a picturesque place to eat/drink by the cathedral. Amazing burgers and nuggets, and the drinks are not too expensive. Perfect for a long summer evening with friends!

Fun venue for dancing and having a drink in Lausanne, it can be quite crowded as it's small inside. Staff is friendly, music is good and fun is guaranteed!

This bar is mainly for foreigners in Switzerland - English speaking Students but also young people at work can be found there. Very nice to eat outside. Beware it is very crowded and you may not find a table. But it is ok if you are young :p

Amazing terrasse, well situated, international crowd and waiters, great food for a quick lunch or dinner with beers and friends. Somewhat limited choice of beers but there is still one for every taste.

THE bar in Lausanne. Be it summer or winter it's crazy full. Only that in the summer, the garden outside all up and down the stairs, you'll find friends share a glass and a story! Beers and burgers and especially a wonderful ambience! The great escape indeed!

I like the Great Escape kindof despite myself. The draft beer selection is pretty good, and the staff are attentive, which is pretty amazing considering how crowded the place gets.
The big plus for me is the ample beer garden (actually a public plaza) which becomes a petanque court in the summer.
I write despite myself because there are other aspects which the reader might love but that I don't: there's sport of one kind or another on almost non-stop, and the place is a bit of a meat market. But when it's slow I can curl up with a book and ignore the TV.response / report this review -

Nice bar, but very crowded and noisy. Friendly and competent staff. Serves your usual beers and cocktails, have some of the best burgers in Lausanne. Their outside seating area is actually the best part of the place in the summer. They usually have TVs on with sports and specialize in premier league games.

At first glance, you already know you are in a British ambiance. Nice choice of beers and cocktails & delicious burgers and salads. I highly recommend this place for eating and having drinks. Plus, the staff is super kind and effective.
