  My experience, hike from Stansstad 440m to the Pilatus 2070m. It took 4 hours through the forest, above the fog sea, metal ladder and snow.

  Great experience riding this cog wheel railway which is steepest in the world. Great views of the areas around.
  
  I would recommend climb from this side and decent via the ropeway
