Never in my life have I ever been asked for a bribe in an airportuntil trying to fly out of the Pointe-Noire Airport. I was asked for not one, but three bribes to fly out. I ended up only paying one, but it was for $40 to the baggage screener. This is absolutely unacceptable for any airport no less an international one. I hope all the police here get fired one day and that Africa gets less corrupt.

SCAM ALERT!! Upon leaving Pointe-Noire, after getting the exit stamp, the "customs officials" (tan uniforms) will look at your passport and ask you (in French) how much CFA currency you have. They will then tell you must hand it over. This is a lie and illegal, there is nothing to declare under 10,000 euro. As well as stealing from passengers, these useless public servants also take money away from the legitimate businesses upstairs (lounge and duty free after security check).

PLEASE discourage these corrupt scumbags by either spending all your CFA, putting it in your checked luggage or just refusing to understand their requests (speak anything but French). Any other suggestions welcome And congratulation to the customs men and women for living up to stereotypes of Congolese/African corruption!
