I highly recommend the crew at West Coast Health Collective, their staffed with incredibly knowledgeable, caring and attentive midwives who are there for you from start to finish. Even Jo who so gracefully runs the front is genuinely caring about your well being! I look forward to my appointments as it's almost a treat going into the office. And what pregnant woman does have a trillion questions and concerns? These ladies will listen and understand everything you could possibly think of when it comes to yours and your babies physical health and your mental health during and after.
There is no doubt their goal is for you to have the healthiest most comfortable pregnancy possible and that shines through each of them daily.

The ladies at WCHC are amazing. From day 1 Jo at the front desk made me feel at home, and Abigail was my incredible midwife who I now consider family. I loved each and every appointment that I had there and loved meeting the other midwives. I appreciated their natural approach while also being clinical and medical when necessary. I felt very confident in their care for both myself and my baby.

If I ever needed to get in touch with my midwife with a question or concern (even in the middle of the night), I was never made to feel as if I was a bother to them or that I was wasting their time. If anything, they told me that I should have called sooner to bring myself peace of mind about what I was concerned about. The care we received during and after childbirth was exceptional and the home visits in the weeks after my son was born were a godsend. They all have such a wealth of knowledge for first time moms and dads in those first few weeks and gave referrals when necessary to other care providers such as Osteopaths, Lactation Consultants, etc.

During my pregnancy I used WCHC for massage with Sarah, and met with Kathy briefly as well who were both very pleasant and easy to talk to. I have been to other events at WCHC: Birthing From Within Prenatal Class with Carolyn - SO AMAZING!, the Papalooza - fun night, Pelvic Floor Health Workshop - very informative, Baby Signing Time with Alescia - such a wonderful class, and feel welcome to pop in at any time to weigh my baby or to just say hello or borrow from their library.

I will absolutely use them again with any/all children that I have in the future and highly recommend them to all pregnant mamas.

Joe at the office is so sweet and helpful! I saw most of the midwives that work there as well and I found them all to be quite friendly and skilled. Katherine and Carolyn were the midwives who attended my youngest child's home birth. Carolyn also attended my eldest's home birth. Terrific job! When I was nervous about my second child's coming delivery Carolyn even came over to my home and did therapeutic art work with me to help conquer the fears. West Coast Health treated me and I suspect all their clients like family. They care for you deeply and understand how special you and your children are. All of my concerns were handled with empathy and were resolved quickly.

Very disappointed and would NOT recommend. (early 2013)

With the alternative medicine staff, I thought the midwives would be more naturally inclined rather than medical. Instead, we found the midwives to be very textbook orientated, with poor listening & customer service skills. With some knowledge of pregnancy and how midwives are supposed to operate, I was appalled when I'd ask for info and be told to look online, then told that you can't trust information online. Or, I'd be given the "you should do X" response without sufficient information for my husband & I to make an informed decision. To top it off, one midwife gave me information (calling me at work without asking if I had time, ending with me in tears) then when my husband called to clarify, she told him something different. And when he was upset with her because of how she'd treated me, we got the boot, despite our trying to contact the head midwife and resolve the issue.

The best thing that happened was when we switched from their care to more experienced midwives who actually listen to my husband and I, and work with us, making sure we understood and knew our options. It made such a difference.

I found my time with these midwives to be amazing! I looked forward to EVERY appointment I had with them . Every issue I had with my pregnancy , which I had quite a bit , they had natural safe alternatives to dealing with them . : ) They were patient with me and my family, incredibly kind , and just AWESOME! I recommend them to all my pregnant friends . My after care , just as amazing . I felt safe and secure knowing that they were just a phone call away if I needed them . No questions asked!!!
