Nasty place
I am not sure what you guys are smoking down there or those face masks you're wearing are preventing oxygen to your brains, but to ask $102 to dispose 12 paper leaf bags is just redicules!!
What a rip off, 80 dollars to toss 500 pounds of garbage, esp when most of the weight was metal recycling. This is what happens when you let private companies run things for the public.
I live in Watford where this dump is located. Since the start of the expansion our town often stinks from the dump. On days that it's windy garbage often blows out and litters nearby fields and the highway. On a few occasions I have had to slam on my breaks driving past the dump because the truck drivers pay no attention to oncoming traffic and fly into and out of the dumps entrance. I am getting so frustrated and AFRAID to drive down that highway because of this. I wish someone would do something about this.
We ordered their smallest bin as we needed to dispose of roofing material and some interior finishes. We received a discount on the bin if we ordered it that day, so we accepted the offer. Once that bin arrive, the driver pulled into our driveway yet damaged the lawn of the neighbour across the street quite badly. While the driver did help to smooth out the lawn to some extent, the rest of the repair was under our responsibility and we received no monetary break for this. Next the bin wasn’t fully emptied, there was some debris in the bottom. We were told that the bin cost covered a 7 day period, the bin would be picked up and if we needed it longer, then we had to call and make arrangements with added costs. On that day the bin was due for pick-up, we called the company to determine what time the truck was expected to arrive. The individual we were speaking with never booked a pick up date, so if we didn’t call that morning, we would have had added costs and no one had told us this. The bin was picked up that day, while that bin was in our position we ensure the contents never got wet, not to mention the 20yd bin was only half full and we had up to a 2 ton limit. A few weeks later we received an additional bill in the mail for $75 stating the load was almost 2.5 tons. We estimate that there was about 1 ton of shingles and there is certainly no way the rest of the material added up to about 1.5 tons. We called stating our concerns, only to say they would provide the weight ticket when the bin was dumped. The weight ticket was supposed to be emailed to us within 48hrs, which it wasn’t. We had to call yet again regarding our concern and seeking the weight ticket. Still nothing, so we then called it as a new customer asking questions if our new load was over weight. The costs are charged on a fractional basis, so if you have a load at 2.37 tons, you pay for 2.37 tons and not 2.5 or more. Finally we received the weight ticket only to see the time in and out was the exact same. That was certainly questionable, does it take them less than a millisecond to unload? We called back yet again regarding our original account, explained what we found out, so the extra bill was adjusted and it was found that they we not applying the discount we received on the first day. Yet the customer service representative had that information in front of them, they admitted to that. Unfortunately we were still stuck with the over weight bill which then has added costs for fuel and an environmental fees. So our $75 over charged ended up being a $35 over charge. All of our time was wasted due to people who get paid to do their jobs.
