There is a really interesting display for the Metis here. It plays fiddle music and lights up at night while it tells a story.
I even found some geocaches in the area!

16/01/2023. We visited Upper Fort Gary this morning and took a short walk. The new park with the 3D steel art work is very nice. There are plaque’s throughout the area explaining the history. It took us about 30 minutes but is was -8C so that speeded things up. I would recommend at least an hour in the summer so you will have time to enjoy the site. Very well done. We will visit again but next time at night as we noticed LED’s imbedded in the steel art work. I suggest that you go to YouTube and do a search on Upper Fort Garry”. There are interesting videos on the history and the new structure that was built.

Always a nice place to visit, especially for out of towners. Old history and modern urban architecture. Lots of tables for a picnic.

As a landscaping enthusiastic, I absolutely love this park. I love how it's a provincial park in an urban downtown setting. I love the fusion of the steel and the concrete and the planting and the trees. I love the light wall and how it plays music. The history of the fort is described on the walls, and the preservation/recreation of the gates is just wonderful.

Well, I really enjoyed some peaceful moments there! Walking around and reading about the importance of this heritage park to the city! Apropos it was absolutely delightful to appreciate the show through the rebuilt steel and lights wall! A must in Winnipeg for sure!
