I had a bad experience recently. My alternator failed on way to work so pulled in here. They agreed to check on it without an appointment. Good for them. But quoted me over $500 for alternator + $500 for labour + taxes. I called local dealer and they said $620 for the entire job, and local auto parts stores said alternators were $325 to $400. Obviously Tremblay is not paying retail for parts but their markup on wholesale seems very high. Called back to Tremblay to complain and after they "did some calling around to their suppliers" suddenly total price of job was bit under $800 including tax. Still a high charge for repairing the alternator but why was their initial price so high? If I hadn't complained would the price have miraculously dropped when it came time to pay?

Honest, straighforward, competent, attentive, thorough. No drama, no surprise charges. Throwback to real service. Go elsewhere if you want second best.

Over the years, they've done my brakes, a couple of oil changes, and my air-conditioning. My old beater keeps going due to their care, and it gets it's annual wash there too! This is the type of business others should model themselves after. Simply that good.

UPDATE: Today's CBC Marketplace topic regarding car dealership service centers motivated to diagnose unnecessary repairs to pad their income (paid by how much business they can generate) reminds me that Tremblay Motors once told me they couldn't find some issues I complained about with my car (power steering and something else I can't remember), so didn't charge me for repairs I didn't need, or even for their time to inspect it.

I always go there to fix my old car). Guys are really know what they doing and very helpful. Have to book appointment in advance, sometimes even for 3 weeks, they quite busy out there. Bonus - clean car at the end of the day😉

I took my car in to Tremblay Motors this week to get my provincial car inspection done. The service I received was fantastic! Their after-hours drop off made it really easy to coordinate with my work schedule, and they cleaned my car after they were done. They charged me the price that they had initially quoted me over the phone and didn't try to rip me off with additional charges. Will definitely be going back there!

Great staff and experience! I have an older car that I love but requires a lot of TLC as it gets older. I have had a lot places try and take advantage of my apparent lack of car knowledge and cone me into unnecessary repairs so finding Tremblay Motors was amazing. Tremblay motors has been amazing and I continue to go back to them will all my car needs. They continually take the time to explain the issue to me to help me understand, help me look into options and never pressure me into a decision. I highly recommend this shop; however, they tend to be quite busy so I recommend calling ahead of time to schedule an appointment, worth the wait.

Has to be the best repair shop in B.C. They were booked solid for two weeks but I needed a part fixed in a rush. They squeezed me in first thing in the morning and out of there in 1/2 hour. Where can you get that kind of service anywhere else in North America? The cost would have been three times higher in any other shop. If you want exception service by some great people you have to give them a try.

Went in to get an out of province inspection, had to get extra issues handled and Brad was upfront and honest about everything. Absolutely wonderful staff, service, and treatment! I also love to see family owned establishments. I will definitely return.

Absolutely fantastic experience here today! Sent in an email/online request and heard back right away. Was able to discuss our specific car troubles on the phone and get our car in the same day! Was educated about our car issue and what to expect in terms of causes and related costs.
The staff were absolutely wonderful. We were treated so well and got so many 'extras' at no cost. We could not be happier and will be back to Tremblay for all of our services.
