Charles Street Video, Trinity Square Video and Tough Guy Mountain proudly presents: Keepers For the Old People. A film by Michael Roderick Keshane.
A personal honest examination of a young man challenging his Life ad. He walks in to the role of being a carrier and keeper of his family's stories.
Keepers For The Old People is a different type of documentary. It follows the artist as he journeys with elders and recalls the teachings from his youth, all while he struggles to cope with the loss of his grandparents. Based on a true story of family loss, Keshane’s journey is told by revisiting the past and looking between the lines of what it means to have grown up in the north-central Regina, and what it means to carry history forward as a keeper of stories, faith, pain and healing.
Michael Roderick Keshane grew up in north-central Regina, Saskatchewan and is currently based in Toronto, Ontario. His video Giving Up the Ghost (2013) was showcased at the imagineNATIVE Film + Media Arts Festival for their 15th Anniversary screening. Other works include Each Standing in the Other’s Light (2014) and For When Dying is a Gift (2015). Visit his website at actchapter27films.com. i stole a super rare 4.67 GB cut of Life of a Crapheads popular feature film: Bugs. going to get the truth out there and expose these jokesters once and for all! This Wednesday, this is your only chance to see the super rare stolen footage. We'll watch this "art flick", there will be some beer, cider and some popcorn (classic movie watchers snack favourite). And then afterwards we can socialize just a bit while we play other bugs movies like probably a bigs life. Tough Guy Mountain will be there too, netowrking and promoting themselves before, after and inbetween the real movies.

Ontario is preparing a pilot program to test out a Basic Income system, and is looking for help in how to design it. A public discussion will be held at The Brandscape, collecting feedback to send to the government organization that is devising the pilot.
We will talk about the scope of pilot, where it will occur, its relationship with currently existing social welfare programs, suggested basic income amounts, and more.
Coffee and refreshments will be provided.
The venue is unfortunately not accessible. There is a small step at the entrance as well as a short flight of stairs into the main space. We are trying to figure out a solution for future event and apologize for the non-inclusive nature of this event, especially when Basic Income could effect people on disability.
