    Its worth the visit.

Lots of different crafts on tap, they don't brew their own. All window wrap around looking on the river. Dock platform on river if you want to kayak/boat up.

Food is enjoyable, I haven't had a bad meal.
    Above normal for pub food.
Nice outside deck for summer, not in use over colder months.

The Sushi counter has shut down.

Fantastic food, had bone marrow for an appy and lamb for the main. Both were delicious and expertly cooked. Staff was fun and always ensured we had anything we needed.

My wife and I went there on our anniversary, as it's just a block or so from where we got married. Visited my old friend from Calgary Jeff Hall - who's the sous chef at White Whale.

We decided to have the "chef's creation" that night, and just put our menus down. Bias aside seeing as he's a friend, it was one of the best meals I've ever had. Everything was fresh, and within 100km. Gotta love that. We sat on the patio in the evening, and the scenery was awesome.

We visit the island every year, and will be making this an annual trip as well.

Beer selection constantly changes, the restaurant manager kept coming back to make sure we tried the best beer options on the menu... plus a server checking in on a regular basis... needless to say, great service! Patio is beautiful, kingfishers and herons make for a lovely view of the river, with an occasional kayaker passing by. We are return customers for a reason. A great watering hole. 😁

Remarkable service and tasty cocktails. I will definitely be back to try the food. This place is highly recommended by everyone I know.

I love this place. Friendly staff, and great food.
My favorite is that there's always a revolving selection of craft beers, so you can try something new every time you go.

Restaurant is located in a quaint old converted house next to the gentle moving Courtenay River. Extensive large windows on the riverside allow you to enjoy the view while dinning. Plus there is a substantial sized deck with outdoor seating that is practically on the river itself - probably a pleasant place to be, on those hot summer days. Often wild waterfowl, kayak's & canoe's drift by, seemingly for your viewing pleasure.

Food is quirky, unique & flavorful. I'd describe the dishes as twists on the typical North American cuisine. Great eating for those who like to be a little adventurous. A ever changing variety of crafted beers, dry cider's & wine's are offered on the menu.

Staff seem to be young, enthusiastic, friendly & genuinely helpful. Atmosphere is casual, lively, comfortable dinning. Altogether a very enjoyable, worthwhile experience.

One complaint, we ordered the dish of the day, a "Philly Cheese Steak Poutine". Though it was yummy, it was missing a main ingredient, the STEAK. Unfortunately the restaurant made no apologies or adjustments to our food bill.

Been a couple of times now and things are definitely consistent. Food is good, not great, but good. Prices are descent. Limited menu, but that makes decisions easier. Good options for kids. They have a sushi bar which I believe opened at 5 and provides better than average sushi for Comox Valley (Edit: Sushi is no longer available). Large drink selection. It is always busy, but the staff are very good at taking care of you. Dropped the ratting from 5 to 4 stars due to "No more sushi". Seasonally changing menu is great though.

    Its worth the visit.
Good for the beer and the "buck a shuck" oysters on the 1/2 shell between 3 & 5 everyday.

The Sushi counter has shut down. Dont know if its back up yet.
