This was our first visit to Taverna in over 10 years and there has been a complete redesign of their menu. We were very impressed with Tony (server) who was knowledgeable, personable and entertaining. It also helped that the quality of food served (pasta, seafood, etc) was better than that of many restaurants we frequent. We have already reserved a spot with Taverna for my 40th birthday soon to come and will sample some other items/wine from their menu. Definitely a must visit restaurant! Thank you to Tony and the kitchen staff for making our lunch visit a memorable experience.

Loved the food I had the angel hair pasta and my dad has the ravioli and my boyfriend had the gnocchi. All absolutely amazing and the place has a very romantic setting. I will definitely go back

Love the food here, the carbonara and the con gamblers are spectacular. The prices are very reasonable for the quality of food and the portion size. Servers are all pleasant and helpful. Skip this restaurant on skip the dishes though, it’s best served hot and fresh inside!

The surrounding were nice but a bit dark in our booth. Food was tasty but 2 of the 3 plates came to the table not hot. Wanted to have a light beer but none offered on the menu.

Short story:
Much better Italian food then this

Long story:
The new look out front is a lie as the inside is the same as it was 10 years ago

We came at 3pm a dead time in most restraunts and despite that our 12inch pizza took a long time while the manager (I assume) was having a fit with the waitress and moving tables loudly

Our pizza came out awful with the majority of our toppings on one side I personally work in a pizza parlor and my Boss would be pissed if our pizza was served like that

Outstanding authentic Italian cuisine, exquisite atmosphere inside and out, and the most welcoming and helpful staff! It felt like we were at a family dinner! Cant wait to go back for more! 10 stars is our book!

The food here is always great. With the option to eat "homestyle," you don't have to limit yourself to one type of pasta - the whole table can share and enjoy several different dishes in one sitting. The new renovations improve the experience with a more open atmosphere.

The food was amazing, the atmosphere was very relaxing and welcoming. The staff were amazingly open and welcoming made me feel like I went to someone's home for a meal. Then the food. Oh my goodness the food! I had the Fettuccine Alfredo with grilled chicken. It was the perfect amount to of sauce to coat the pasta and chicken, the noodles tasted amazing and the flavour of it all was very wholesome. The perfect combination of smooth creamy sauce with a hint of sharp cheese flavour. I will definitely be coming again!

Terrible!
I never write reviews, but I have to write this one.
I used to be a regular here, they had the best lasagna in the city.
I ordered it for lunch and what I got was almost unpalatable.
I ate about a third of it.
When asked if everything was good, I explained it to the waiter.
The response was "Things change".
He took my money and I went away hungry and feeling ripped off.
I will never go back.

Best bruschetta in the city, from an experienced Italian food consumer -- if you don't feel the garlic burn on the way in, it's gobshyte. Pizza, pasta, all is well prepared and presented, and the service is always good -- especially Louie, he loves what he does and it shows. This place is a Saskatoon downtown staple and has been for decades, and its a place I treat myself to when I can.

Love Taverna! We had approached them about the possibility of them hosting our Grub Crawl event at work and they immediately agreed to it - they were gung-ho! The manager was a breeze to coordinate with and the event went off without a hitch - which made my life better! The food was amazing and the waiter - Louie I think his name was? - was quite a character and kept each group entertained as they awaited their food. AND THE FOOD! Amazing quality. You can tell everything is hand made in the kitchen. You just don't see restaurants like that anymore. Awesome food!
