I live in Regina but when my wife and I come to Prince Albert to visit family we try to make one meal with our family members at Star House. This has been a tradition of ours for over 15 years. We went there last Wednesday (Nov 15 2017) and their buffet rules for children are up to 11 years old. My nephew whose 11 should've been charged $11. She charged me $15.95. So upon reviewing my bill I had to argue that there were 7 adults (since my 11 year old nephew is considered an adult in their eyes), a 9 year old girl and my 2 year old son. Instead she argued with me there were 8 adults and the 2 children. Then when I wouldn't back down she sent her server to come and count our table of 9. She came back to confirm there were 9 people. So I asked for a copy of the receipt (we were in PA for family business) the bill was finally correct to the tune of $147. Then while I'm paying and since our server was quite attentive to us I was planning on leaving a tip but was trying to mentally calculate if a percentage tip or a $ tip was better. Now I'm assuming owner whose given me such fine service is riding my case heavily a minimum 10% tip is mandatory. I then scroll to $0 because this has made me much angrier than my blood sugar dipping so low (I'm diabetic) before eating this highly greasy meal I have ever had there. My family has been eating there since the mid 90' s. The owner then is on my case at least another 6 times after the debit transaction has approved about tipping. So in short, I've been eating at that establishment since approximately 1993 when it was a place where you went and kneel while you ate your food to this greasy mess. I can certainly say that being a customer for around 25 years to losing around 10 people minimum for their future. Good job!
Less Chinese food than I would have liked but it was a good quick meal with tasty selections
I find the buffet to be very unappealing. However, it is a great place to order take out from the menu. The dinner for two is an excellent choice.
Good food, good service. Best Chinese buffet in Prince Albert
Best Chinese buffet around , favorite place to go eat . Love it
We go here for the buffet and am usually happy with the service. Food, for the most part, is always hot and tastes good. Always room for a large sized party! Staff are always friendly.
Amazing food, wide variety with amazing dessert selection
Great place to eat. One of the best buffets I have eaten at. They continuously monitored what was getting low and was filling it before it was empty. Great service and always asking if everything was ok. I have eaten there several times and it has always been great.
Decent Chinese food; friendly service; never too busy. Great location on main highway through the city.
