Staying at this place was an experience in itself. The rooms look like they haven't been touched since the 70s, but they were comfortable, and super accessible to a lot of cool climbing and hiking routes.
The front desk guy, Chris, is freakin hilarious. The Budget Inn would be a super lovely place to stay if he had a team to help maintain the hotel, but he frantically takes care of as much as he can on his own and really wants to make sure you are comfortable during his your stay.
After an epic backpacking trip up Mt. Olympus, we would take anything with a warm shower, so this spot worked out perfectly for us. However if you're not feeling like having more adventure time at your hotel and prefer a more "conventional" hotel experience, I would stay elsewhere.

Had a good laugh at this motel, tried to check in at around 1pm and no one was there till 230pm so we head off to whistler. tried ringing the motel twice while we were in whistler to say we were coming back a bit later to check in and no one answered. got to the motel at 9pm and the guy at the lobby tells us there's no more rooms. Had a good verbal stoush and eventually got a room at the expensive of some other weary traveller. Room wasn't too bad though

While 99% of the reviews have been horrid, our stay has proven reasonable. 2nd floor not so bad for traffic and like some guests, we were stuck with this place as our last resort - big event on in town & absolutely everything is booked solidwe appreciate the air con, the new carpet still in good shape, the microwave & fridge. Our interactions have been pleasant with the owner and he is quirky yet trying very hard to accommodate people. Tough business! The bathroom is wretchedly tiny, I am glad I travel with shower shoes and my own camping kit. There are dishes in the cupboard all in need of a good wash. The twin beds have been comfortable. It's an adventure - just what travelling is about.

Very dirty rooms and rude manger. Don't waste your money and go somewhere else. It might be cheaper then other hotels/motels around here but that doesn't mean you're going to sleep in a dirty room. Didn't even want to walk on the bathroom floors from how dirty it looks. In addition they were smelly and small.

Buy some bed bug shampoo if you plan on staying here. For the money you'll save staying at this cheap place you'll end up spending extra with anti itch cream and bed bug treatments. This place is very gross. There were food stains on the wall and drip marks on the tables that were 'original' as the front desk manager told us. Even a fresh coat of paint on the previously repainted furniture would have been better. The lamp shade was burnt which I was not aware was possible. They claimed to have cleaned the sheets but they were very brown colored and the mattress underneath had red blood stains. No mattress covers either. Skip this place if you read this review.

Room is nice, bathroom was really small. Heater buzzed all night unfortunately. It's cheap, you get what you pay for. Would stay again though.

Oct. 15 Huge storm, weather was horrible. Driving back from Whistler I stopped in Squamish BC. Late night after 12am, first two hotels didn't answer. Gentleman at Inn answered and quoted me a price.
I called my rental car company for an extension but ran into difficulty. I called the Inn back to explain I wasn't going to stay. He told me to rethink my decision as it was late and crappy out. No one should have been on the road that night. He then offered me a small discount on the room, more importantly he was sincere about me continuing my journey in daylight with better weather. I decided to stay. Having explained I needed only a restroom and bed,the room I got needed some work.
I understood that I was not getting the best room. I can't comment on the rest of the rooms or property. If you need a quiet room for the night, this is a decent choice. Close, safe location. Walking distance to most everything in town.
