Tonight was our first time trying this restaurant and omg I can't say enough about it. My husband got a 3 meat 3 side plate so we could sample as much as possible. All of the meats are to die for with optional BBQ sauces on the side so you can control your flavour. They didn't need BBQ sauce but I couldn't resist trying them (I mean coffee BBQ sauce.who wouldn't). The staff told me that the sauces were made in house and they have bottled versions for a very reasonable price if you love them as much as I did. The ribs were so tender! Not skimpy on meat at all, which I find is sometimes the case at other places. The pulled pork was delicious and also melt in your mouth. But omg like seriously omg! That brisket though.. to die for. also, best Mac n cheese I've had in my life.
The staff were so friendly and awesome and their kids plates for $5 were awesome and super filling for my boys!

The best bbq and smoked meats I've ever tasted. Even the slaw is amazing! And you haven't lived until you've tried the baked beans and the brisket. Omg the brisket!

Skinny's Smoke House catered our wedding in Elkwater, AB on July 22nd, 2017. We had tried their food at numerous weddings we had attended and absolutely loved the taste, quality, and selection of food they offered. They came highly recommended by many of our friends so it was an easy choice for us to select them to cater our wedding - and we are so grateful they did! We went with the pick-up package and were going to use a delivery service to bring their food, along with our midnight lunch from another company out to Elkwater. Our worst fear - the food not showing up, was confirmed at 5:30pm on our wedding day. A half hour before supper was to be served. Luckily, Skinny's was on top of this dilemma and called us immediately when the food was not picked-up by our delivery service. They saved the day for us when they not only quickly sprung into action to deliver the food - but also picked up our midnight lunch from another company as well! This restaurant not only has the best tasting food in Medicine Hat but also has a deep investment in making their customers happy. The delicious food that was served at our wedding was enjoyed by all with numerous compliments. We can't recommend them enough whether it's to cater your big event or a night out for supper. Thank you so much to Skinny's for saving our wedding day and making our supper one to remember :)

First time to Skinny's. Staff very friendly & helpful. Explained the menu. We had a pulled pork sandwich. It was awesome. Highly recommend Skinny's for true smoke house flavour.

Whenever I go to Skinny's I know I'm going to have an amazing meal. One of my favourite local restaurants. The BBQ here rivals that of some of the famous places in the United States. Highly recommend.

Pretty good BBQ. Brisket was tasty. Ribs were good. Potato soup was very nice, especially on a cold day. Good service. Definitely Medicine Hat's best BBQ spot.

Don't trust the reviews
I've been to over 100 rib and smokehouses over North America. This place is near the bottom
I ordered the 3 meat combo with potato salad, cornbread and slaw.. brisket, ribs and pulled pork..
The pulled pork was just the meat super dry and shoved at the bottom of the plate ( horrible ) I added their sauces and still didn't help..
The ribs were the same super dry and over seasoned.. and I only got 3 ribs when the lady at the front said you'd get 5..
Brisket was all fat with only a bit of meat near the edge..
Potato salad was interesting as was the slaw.. maybe just trying to be to different ? Hated them both.
The one good thing was their corn bread ! Great tasting and nice butter touch.. I was gunna order more but was so disappointed with everything I just wanted to leave..
The worst thing that got me was as I entered I would assume the owner in all skinny BBQ gear stood at the door ( didn't open it ) never said hi or can I help you .. just stared outside I looked back and there was nothing outside.. 5 minutes goes by and he is still staring outside .. not a word .. I'm a paying customer can you help me take my money in exchange for your food !!
The lady at the register was super. Nice as was the Scottish cook in the back.. but that guy staring out into yonder not acknowledging any customers or helping his staff .. rude ..
In conclusion I find these reviews dated and old.. which were just like their meat served daily..
