Love it out there - good hiking but be aware that you are in someone else's backyard ;)

Wonderful place that was quiet when we were there this time.

We tried to take the interpretive trail but the signage led us astray. That sucked but we sure found some other great spots and now that we know where the interpretive trail is, we'll take it next time.

Campsites are just private enough, good mixture of sun and shade. Staff was very helpful. Very family oriented. Would score a 5 if it had a lake/swimming access.

Beautiful fun place in kanaskas to spend time alone or with others not as busy as the Main part of kanaskas

Amazing quite place. Great for hiking and long drives. You can spot black bears and deers. Watch for a view point in 35 km which faces the valley, river and mountains.

This is a fantastic place. There is no cell service. That makes it even better. Follow the Sheep River through the foothills in this beautiful provincial park. It's got the bonus that it also didn't seem at busy as some other ones we'd visit, so driving and stopping to see stuff is pretty easy - and that was on May long weekend. Paddlers hit the falls on Sheep River, but we weren't lucky to see any of that. Highlight for me was the Bighorn Lookout - I could have sat there an absorbed the scenery for hours. Photo attached.

I come here all the time on my ADV bike. I live the ride out and it's one of my favorite places to go chill out and meditate.

Amazing place to go and know what Alberta is all about. Careful on the road for wildlife. Expecially during the night there is always a herd of something on the road.

Alberta boasts some of the most beautiful provincial parks and this is no exception - always enjoy taking a drive out - the air is so crisp and clean.

Living on the west side of Calgary I tended to travel to either the end of Hwy 66 or Hwy 40 for most of my weekend hikes and picnics but having visited The Sheep river park for the first time this year I will definitely make an effort to explore it further. We camped at Sandy McNabb and did a few day hikes around there and it`s a beautiful area.
