One of the best stops on the island. As a diver throughout the Pacific Northwest, this aquarium showcases and provides an interactive experience with the best and most fascinating sea life we have on the BC coast

Loved our visit! Our six month old was fascinated by all the sea life. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Definitely worth the annual family membership.

Good place to spend a couple of hours with the kids in the sleepy town of Sydney. We liked the exhibits, our son loved the contact pool but the videos, games, activities, etc lacked content, some toys were super old and run down and the guides were not all that enthusiastic about the talks. We feel that they should review training for volunteers and customers facing staff, perhaps refresh their videos and other teaching materials and give an opportunity to younger, more energetic people to do the kids' activities

This place is an awesome stop for vacationers. It's not very big but it has lots of different things to see. The microscopes that let you get a closer look at the textures of star fish, anemone and the like is a pretty neat way to be interactive. There are cool little info classes throughout as well. The touch are was awesome. Lots of info for how small the place is. The staff are all extremely nice and very informative. Great experience and I highly recommend going.

This was a super cool spot. We bought a family pass as we will definitely be going back! It's small but packed with lots of great things to see and learn. Our child loved it.

We found the Salish Sea Aquarium quite by accident as we ventured into Sidney to kill some time before taking the rental car back to the airport and flying home. It is beautifully maintained, the entrance process which depicts a submarine dive is very dramatic, the displays are interesting and informative. The tanks are clean and well maintained and the fish are healthy. They take a very humane approach to stocking the tanks as everybody only stays a few months and is then released back to the ocean and replaced with a new "guest". I highly recommend a visit to this place.

Great museum! Kids learned a few things about octopus! Amazing jelly fish! It was great on a rainy day finishing with hot chocolate in one of the local coffee shops.

A little aquarium with friendly, knowledgeable volunteers. It reflects our community well. The activities are neat and the touch pool is fascinating. But it is a little aquarium, we never spend more than an hour here.

beautiful and fun place to go, even for grown up kids in their late 40's. It all starts with bathyscaphe lock, cool and funny, I am impressed. Despite its small size, this place deliver, on par with Vancouver Aquarium I would say. Displays, lighting, information placards, variety of sea life, it is all good. Now, being freediver and spear fisherman, I had a few questions, and was surprised that some floor staff couldn't identify species of fish floating in the tank, let alone speak for protected or endangered species, or fishing regulations. This was quickly resolved by another staff member who came up for help. But honestly, this is something management should look into. Overall, I had a good time, and would go again if I happen to be in the area.
