Lovely views...right on the ocean. Watch the sunrise, sunset and tides. Very peaceful. Front desk staff are friendly and helpful. A short walk to all amenities.

Quaint older lodging will soon be torn down and be replaced with a new one. Great views on the ocean, friendly staff and great price.

My first impression at check in was not stellar due to the unfriendly woman at the desk. The view from the sliding door is that of a beautiful ocean, although the blinds don't close all the way. The carpets are beyond stained, the beds are reminiscent of a camping trip, there isn't much light in the room once the sun goes down and the bathroom floor is spongy near the toilet. There is a vintage, camper style fridge that keeps everything nice and cold - definitely one of the rare amenities.

Total disappointment. People need to know this place is being torn down by years end so construction of a brand new hotel can begin. I wish I would have known that prior to booking. Carpets are disgusting, paint is peeling, bathtub is untouchable, hairdryer doesn't work etc etc. Talked to manager who told me it was priced accordingly. Ridiculous. The honest thing to do would be to close it down for the last few months, or tell people on the phone how rough it is. How the reviews are this high boggles my mind.

I spent from Dec 2016 to May 2017 at the Sand Pebbles Inn and couldn't have enjoyed my time on the island more. The staff were more than courteous, always willing to help and accommodate their patrons, and the location was second to none. Qualicum Beach is only 2.5 hours to the west coast of the island (Tofino), 30 minutes from Courtenay to the north and the same time to get to Nanaimo to the south. Victoria is about 2 hours away making it convenient to get anywhere you want to go on the island.
Although this past winter was cooler than the locals were accustomed to, it was by far much nicer and milder than the harsh Ontario winters. If you are looking to escape Canadian winters, I highly suggest going to the Sand Pebbles Inn. They also accommodate dogs, which was fabulous as I don't travel without mine.
I would also like to add that I never had any trouble with other guests. With the managers on site, there wasn't any funny business going on.
Five stars and they deserve every last one of them!! Loved my stay.

Great place, great view, friendly staff and very clean large comfortable rooms...bathroom is dated and is in drastic need of upgrade or it would be five stars. Have to add, there were three seals playing in the ocean right in frount of our balcony. made a great start to the day.

Less than impressed. The bed sagged so you rolled into the middle with your partner, the toilet ran all night, the carpet was bleach stained, there was no bed bug protectors on the beds, and to top it all off I had to call down to the front desk for a clean shower curtain, the one that was in there was pink from bacteria half way up and stiff like card board. The bath matt in the tub is plastic and has a build up of everyone;s soap scum.Gross !! For $150.00 a night very disappointed .I have to give it one star or I can't post ,but other than that reason they wouldn't get any.

The boardwalk features the finest ocean sunset anywhere! The beds are good and staff are friendly.Come to the Island!
