  I have been here on and off over the years. It's lovely to have a nearby cafe where the desserts are delish and the staff are super friendly.
  
  
  
  I tried the regular poutine on my last trip, and while this option is a great snack, there weren't enough fries on the plate to call it a meal.
  
  
  
  I have the place a four which almost seems unfair given all of the other pluses. It is a solid 4.5 �

  I've been to roots cafe twice. The butter chicken poutine is very good. The fries are super crispy and the butter chicken sauce is delicious but we thought that there was not enough chicken in our poutine both times that we got it.
  
  
  
  I also tried the veggie burger and that was really good too. The pastries they sell are also good - I tried the pecan tart and that was pretty tasty, the matcha rice crispy tasted like matcha and wasn't too sweet and the marshmallow square tasted kind of off.. almost as if it were stale. The matcha latte was pretty tasteless.
  
  
  
  I got the quinoa bowl with teriyaki sauce and was quite shocked at how simple it was. The quinoa bowl is literally just raw vegetables, warm quinoa and whatever protein you choose (I chose tofu and there were just small chunks of boiled/steamed tofu) covered in a teriyaki sauce that tastes like the stuff they drizzle over cheap pizza. The presentation was boring and I couldn't help but think that I could probably make the same thing at home for a dollar whilst I was paying 10 dollars for this.

  Great food, fun place to relax and enjoy the time out. The fish and fries were unreal, nice big portion of fish. Very nice.

  Had a private function there. Owners Greg and Ethel went out of their way to offer great food and great service. The butter chicken poutine is die for.

  Roots is an amazing place to eat, drink and hang out. The owners are some of the nicest people I've ever met. The food is out of this world (Try the butter chicken poutine, it's incredible!)

  I had the breakfast with coffee and enjoyed it. It was quiet, just the way I like it so I can hear the person talk. The round table was sturdy.

  The Americano is second to non that i've tried in Vancouver. Cool vibes and super sexy staff!
