The pies are good the current staff are even better!!! We frequent this place several times a week and have so for the past several years, we eat and have coffee; sometimes we come in just to say hello. Without this staff it would be just another dessert place.

I bought a whole apple pie today and served it at a family dinner. My guests noticed that the dough beneath the apples were not cooked fully and the dough was very sticky and gooey. I called the shop that night to ask if it was normal and the person that responded was so rude and made it sound as if I was lying or didn’t know what I was talking about. I originally called them just to hear an explanation but after getting this response from her, I swear I will never set foot in that restaurant again. These people should perhaps get some courses on customer service.

Really didn’t enjoy the sticky, raw dough in the apple crumble. My whole family ate raw dough and after giving the restaurant a chance to make it right, they were rude and condescending. You’ve lost a valuable customer.

For the first time ever, the awful customer service actually made me not want any Rockaberry pie, which I didn't think was possible because I love their pies. Unfortunately, the two women who were working on the night of Sat. Nov 18th 2017 (around 10pm) were quite nasty and unpleasant to our large group. We waited patiently for a few tables to clear up to fit our group and when we went to the empty corner to sit down together, they said we couldn't fit because it was a fire hazard, which is understandable. What was not justified was when she told us that we were making other customers nearby very uncomfortable because we were taking up too much of their space. However, basic common sense would've easily remedied the situation since the tables nearby could've easily been rearranged to accommodate our large group, but the servers did not care and it was very clear they did not want us there: the brown-haired girl with a tiny stature was constantly eye-rolling her eyes at us, and she smiled when she told us that we couldn't sit together. It is very likely she purposely treated our large group terribly so that she wouldn't have had to work as much that night. After this cold and unwelcoming service received by these two women, we left and took our business elsewhere (to the Second Cup across the street: the women working there were very welcoming and kind! Their desserts are also very good, particularly their brownies and nanaimo bars).

To summarize, Rockaberry Monkland lost a lot business not only that night, but every other night and day after that. Go to the Rockaberry's in DDO (on Sources blvd) or Kirkland (on St. Charles) instead.

We were a party of 7. We came in at 7:30 to be seated. The brunette behind the counter asked how many we were and then went around the counter to look at the tables and then went back behind the counter. We started looking at the pies while waiting to be seated. 10 mins later, we realized the two girls behind the counter, one blonde and one brunette with a lot of makeup were ignoring our presence while laughing and giggling with each other. I then asked the brunette what was going on and she answered there was no room and walked away. It was very confusing, because in front of us were 5 empty tables that could’ve been easily put together for us to sit I walked back towards her and asked why didn’t she inform us earlier that she wouldn’t seat us, and she walked away without answering us in the kitchen.

Our party was truly frustrated and will never set foot in this Rockaberry’s ever again. Very disappointing.

Warning to all pie lovers: the dough under the beautiful-looking pie is uncooked! You got it - raw dough that never gets baked because it absorbs water from the fruit filling below. You never know it until you slice into the pie and you see the mushy stuff. It made me sick.

The waitresses are horrible and refuse to stop smoking directly in front of our window in the back and basically told us that it's tuff shit and not their problem. I will now be boycotting rockaberry and making sure all my friends do the same. Horrible experience.

The wait staff is slow, horrible and rude! One old bat in particular verbally accosted me. I could not believe what was happening. If you see an old bitter lady in a wait staff uniform when you walk into this location I suggest you turn right back around and go to Premier Moisson instead. Seriously have NEVER had this experience in my LIFE! I welcome a contact from any management or higher representing Rocaberry to discuss this further.

Allow me to start off by saying I have been going to Rockaberry's for years and have always enjoyed the food the ambiance and the service.

Last night however was an experience I'll never forget, I'm appalled at the level of disrespect and lack of professionalism displayed by the service staff last night, November 18, 2017.

It's the first time I literally walked out of a restaurant without purchasing a thing. After the words, actions and seriously misplaced attitudes of two employees (whom apparently do not know the basic principles of customer service or public relations) I had enough and told them I'd rather spend my money elsewhere. The girls, that's right not women but GIRLS because they were too immature for me to treat as grown women, did not provide the phone number, or contact name for management, only they were not present that night - and possibly if a manager or owner was there that whole scenario could have been avoided because discipline and management would have kept our group of ten people as paying customers and easily earned an extra $200 from us last night.

I am really disappointed the staff did not try to accommodate our group. There was space they could have rearranged tables and chairs but instead of thinking outside of the box and trying to make the customers happy, they scoffed, rolled their eyes and mouthed off.

They raised their voice and whined and tried to argue with my friend who was insistent on them doing their job and serve us the same way they should any regular paying customer.

It was a terrible display of ignorance. I tried to tell my friend that it was not worth talking to them it was besides the point and I didn't feel my friend should waste her breath on foolishness and lower herself to the same level as the waitress who can stand to learn a lot about business and marketing, the power of word of mouth and the importance of customer retention - especially for a restaurant like this.

I've brought friends, co-workers, dates and family to Rockaberry's for approximately 10 years now. It's sad but I'm going to boycott this location from now on. Otherwise I fear they will not learn a valuable lesson.

We were a group of ten. It was a tight squeeze. We were excited to eat. We expected to get a bunch of dessert and coffee and other food in celebrating one of our friend's birthdays. We grabbed a corner booth with two tables.

Imagine this, if we would have brought the chair that was in the entrance, or the chair from the single table further away that wasn't in use but far away from the rest of the group, all of us could have been seated. Would you believe it?! There were extra chairs and an extra table but the wait staff didn't think to offer to arrange that for us we were trying to make it work for THEM. That makes no sense. It is not up to us as customers to do the work or problem solving. They are getting paid to do these blatantly simple tasks. In theory we would have grabbed a chair and carried on, made our orders and the evening would have continued fine.

Well the evening did continue on beautifully, after we changed venue. (Second Cup's personnel, just across the street on Monkland were amazing by the way!)

Instead, I said: "I'm going to bring that extra chair over here so that I can sit too."

**Now picture a large separation in between our table and the table of four that were down the bench (one long bench across the wall) there was room for a chair and a half to be placed on the side where we were, this way we would not disturb the other group and have sufficient space for the waitresses to manoeuvre around us. It would have been perfect! There may have been slight discomfort because there wasn't much elbow room for those on the booth but they were more than happy to grab something to eat and still comfortable (not sitting in each others' lap) plus they're fairly slim and fit people who've known each other for years and didn't mind if thighs touched. (We've all been there it's worth it to cozy up and eat - the more the merrier right?!) Granted the booth was an "L" shape so it could be used for as many or as few who can fit sitting on it.**

Seconds after I explained what I was about to do for a place to sit the older, heavier-set of the two waitresses scoffed and had her hand on her hips exuding the utmost disrespect. She said that she lost a table of four as though we crowded them and they didn't feel comfortable. I looked over and just looked at the table she was pointing about and I was just dumb founded because they weren't going anywhere, they just sat there loitering even though they didn't seem to have any food left to eat they were done the meal and maybe they were just waiting to pay and leave as it was but that's something else entirely it's not up to the wait staff to tell people when to leave and maybe they weren't done and waited to eat more but I think it was the back talk and the zoo-like display of us shuffling to get to sit that made everyone in the resto feel awkward!

Then as all of my friends were tucked into the booth and chairs the other childish server said out of the blue that we were a fire hazard and that she wouldn't let us order. She even had the audacity to suggest that the group be split like 7 at the end of the booth, and 2 others go to a table that was unoccupied but separated because there were two other groups in between them and it would still mean someone would be oddly standing up so it was 1) rude, 2) counterintuitive, 3) unacceptable behaviour.

It was a busy night sure. But I can't believe what a poor level of service we were met with. They don't care. They fail to see the bigger picture here I was a returning customer and have been there frequently once every couple of months. I am well acquainted with that whole neighbourhood having graduated from Villa Maria at the top of the Avenue and I am a member of Milesfit a few blocks away from the restaurant. I've spent hundreds of dollars there within the past 6 months alone.

But now I will not return, not until I have a good word with the owner and make sure they take this as a coaching opportunity for those individuals under their employ.

I asked them in utter shock and disbelief, "do you want to make money tonight or not?" The response was a shake of the head and eye roll while she had leaned on the back of a chair that meant for my friend to be seated in.

I walked out in complete shock and disgust. And I wasn't alone, surely all 9 of my friends came out right afterwards. The lady that was in our party who was having a back and forth with the incredulously arrogant girl actually pondered about getting a piece of cake to go she loves the food (as did our entire group). But upon some reflection she too didn't want to endorse a resto that treats its clientele so badly!

So despite craving a nice slice of Rockaberry pie and coffee for weeks (since the Facebook invitations were made for the group event) we took a stand and left. We entertained ourselves, we got a nice dessert and better service ELSEWHERE.

You lost me as a customer yesterday, not to mention thousands of dollars you would have potentially made had you served me properly.

A thousand Thank You's to Erin. Called yesterday from Ohio in USA. To order a pie for a dear friend in hospital, a Boston cream pie from Rockberrys was on her wish list. Erin answered phone and explained you don't deliver but I could have a Taxi deliver it for me, was willing to do so. When I told her it was going to hospital, she offered to deliver after work on her own time. Blessings to you Erin.
