Expansive parking lot but fills up quickly by 7-8am in summer. In summer, riad blocked usually by 8am by remote cintrolled barrier. Alternate parking LLouise $12/car. Great sunset sunrise photos from Rockpile

Arrived to the parking lot before 6am mid week and parking was getting full. What actually is going on with that? Day before drove by around 9am and road to the lake was blocked off.

A parking update from Thursday, 21st July 2021. We reached here at 5:25 in the morning and there were about 40% of the parking lot empty. The sunrise as per apps were at 5:56 and the the first days of sun hit the mountains at 6:20. The rest is magical! Undoubtedly one of the most stunning views here at Banff! It's just surreal to be there for that one hour. Totally worth it!! The rock piles will quickly get occupied, so it's better to come early.

Car parks are very limited, better to go before 9am or around 3pm.
