This was my last wedding of the fall season and it was certainly one for the books! <3 Jevin & Christina are two of the MOST loving, caring & beautiful humans, I feel so honoured to have met them. I LOVED this wedding! I took Amy & Cody's engagement photos 2 years ago, and when they started planning their big day I was SO excited they chose me to document their wedding day as well! These two love birds are so freakin' sweet and adorable, and it was such an honour to witness them tie the knot! ❤ Also -- how many bride and grooms do you know who ASK the photographer if they can lay in the grass for photos? Sometimes it rains on your wedding day. Some couples panic, worry or stress about what they're going to do, BUT NOT THESE TWO! It was like the weather didn't even matter to them, as it shouldn't! Because wedding days are about celebrating your love for each other, and nothing else <3 Ricky + Kristina were seriously the most laid back bride and groom I could have ever asked for - thank you both so much for being so chill and having a beautiful & fun day regardless of the weather!

Introducing Mr. & Mrs. Wood <3 First of all, choosing sneak peaks from this wedding was SO HARD! This day was jam packed with alllll the emotions, from Tara's dad's first look, to Ryan's first look as she came down the aisle, to the vows Tara wrote to Riley, to Riley joining them for their first dance, I don't think there was ever a dry eye in the room. <3

THIS WEDDING I just loved it in every possible way! ❤️Hayley + Jory are two of the most beautiful humans you could ever meet, and they threw the best dang wedding! Every part of their day suited them so perfectly, it was relaxed, carefree, and just full of so much happiness! Jory has the most contagious laugh and Hayley has this way about her that makes everyone feel like a million bucks! It was amazing to see them showered by so much love from their friends/family (special shoutout to the groomsmen, I have never seen so many men cry at once, hehe 😊) Thanks to you both for allowing us to be a part of this day, we were truly honoured to be there!

We had the pleasure of meeting Melissa last March when we started looking for a wedding photographer. Not very often do you find a photographer where you fall head over heels with their style. I'm not joking when I say that I was in love with every single image she had on her website. We went to contact her about wedding packages when we were blown away again. "If you are looking for a photographer who will take your pictures and be done, I might not be the best choice. I get invested in the people I am shooting" (loose quotation) We swooned a little more! Then, before booking, she wanted to video chat with us to get to know us as a couple. So we hadn't even signed a contact and she had blown us away 3 times so far! This is the kind of photographer Melissa is!! She gets invested in you!!!
We met with Melissa at the end of April for our engagement session, and upon meeting her in person for the first time it was like catching up with an old friend. She is the most personable person I know! She had Craig and I laughing the entire time! Craig is not the most outgoing person but she made us feel so comfortable it was as if she's always been around! We are absolutely in love with our engagement session images!!
Melissa traveled back to Nova Scotia to shoot our wedding on January 6th 2018. In a snow storm. In -30 degree weather. Have I mentioned she gets invested?! It wasn't just us who fell for Melissa's great personality and photography style- everyone in our families and bridal parties fell for her too! She made everyone feel so comfortable!!! It was freezing outside- we were never outside for more than 5 minutes at a time without going inside to warm up but you would never be able to tell with the quality of her work! She is incredible at adapting to the elements!!
I feel like I am babbling on but honestly, how could I not? She is fantastic. Her work is incredible. She is incredible! It hasn't been a month since our wedding day and we are already planning a trip to PEI to get more pictures done!
In case it wasn't clear, I give Melissa a HUGE recommendation! She has a talent that is so rare! I am still so shocked that she created such beautiful pieces for us, and I am so so blessed that she came into our lives!!! When we first met Melissa, she was so bubbly and welcoming - I knew right then we made the right choice choosing her to capture the best day of our lives!
We quickly realized as we started getting pictures taken that we weren't good at this whole "looking like we like each other" in front of a camera thing. Melissa made it so easy to relax, laugh and have a good time, forgetting there was even a camera there.
There wasn't a moment Melissa didn't capture on our wedding day. She caught every first look, kiss, hug, tear, smile, laugh, and the over all love from that day. The pictures we have, will always bring back the exact emotions felt during that day, photo by photo.
Everyone who attending our wedding raved about Melissa and not only how she was as a photographer, but also a person. During the stress and the craziness, Melissa never stopped laughing and smiling - god love her.
There aren't enough words to express how grateful we are! We can't wait for more special moments in our lives to share and have Melissa capture them for us. �response / report this review -

Melissa was our photographer for our wedding on July 15th and I can't say enough good things about her as a person and her work, she was amazing. Through the entire planning process she answered any questions I had, which was extremely helpful as it can be stressful at times! The day of Melissa was so calm and prepared for the day that I felt I could just leave the pictures/poses up to her and she did not disappoint!! Her husband also took some of the pictures as a second photographer and they were great as well! She is funny and easy to talk to, which made our bridal party and family a lot more comfortable during the picture process!

We hired Melissa to shoot our wedding, and it was a great choice! She did a great job of making us feel comfortable in front of the camera and we were able to act natural for each shot. We chose to go with Melissa because of the reasonable pricing, but more importantly for the quality of the photos she takes- we really like her style of photos and editing. Working with Melissa and Jake was a great experience, from our engagement photos to the big day. She was very easy to contact and accommodated our schedule and requests for the wedding day. We are incredibly pleased with the way her photos turned out, and the quick turn around time to get them (Just under 2 weeks). We would highly recommend Melissa Harding as a wedding photographer!

We asked Melissa to take our wedding photos and we definitely made the right choice! She was great to work with, couldn't have ask for a better photographer! She went above and beyond and had great communication with us in the months before and leading up to the wedding. She did some great poses but let us be ourselves too. It was a perfect combination. She was super pleasant and great to have around! The photos turned out amazing, and are so beautiful. Highly recommend!

Melissa did our photos for our engagment session and wedding. I cannot say enough great things about Melissa! Her skills as a photographer are exceptional, but it's her fun loving personality that really makes her shine! She had an incredible ability to make you feel comfortable and at ease when being in front of the camera. She is so open to try anything and was very easy going with our photo suggestions. Her and Jake work so well together to make sure to capture all those special moments. Thank you so much for all your hard work in making our special day so, special! This will not be the last time we use Melissa for our photography needs !

My partner and I asked Melissa to take some baby reveal photos for us. She knew the perfect area to take the photos based on what we said we were interested in. She also took the time to not only focus on the baby surprise but to let us remember we as a couple are important on our own, she took some beautiful pictures we will cherish forever. Thank you!

We love Melissa! We hired her to do our family photos, and let me tell you- we had one cranky almost-two-year old, but she was still able to beautifully capture his few good moments, and even make some of the not-so-good moments work. We were so pleased we asked her to come back and do our newborn baby girl's pictures. She arrived with creative props, ideas, and lots of patience, and again, the results were beautiful! I also hired her to do a side project for me, and even though it was a first for her, she jumped right on board and accomplished exactly what I wanted. She's our favourite photographer and we will be hiring her again for sure!

Melissa is not only an incredible photographer with a beautiful style, but is so down to earth and makes your photography experience calming, non-stressful, and a whole lot of fun!
Melissa is very candid with her photos, you never feel posed, but feel natural and comfortable. She captures those precious moments you long to have in years to come, the fun and silly ones you laugh over, and the perfectly beautiful ones you display on your wall's for company and guests to admire.
My husband and I had our engagement and wedding photos done by Melissa, and tell people all the time how much we LOVED our photographer and how pleased we were by her friendliness and beautiful photography. It meant so much to us to know that our photographer was not just concerned with the 'perfect photo', but capturing the personality and love of those she was photographing.response / report this review -

Just got our photos back from our Oct. 1 wedding! (Yes today is Oct. 21 - it is basically unheard of to have wedding photos back this soon!!! Amazing) and we are so happy! We booked with Melissa because 1. She is amazing and 2. She is hilarious (and countless other reasons, but mostly those) Melissa will do anything for a great shot (lay on the ground, upside down, hand stand etc.) She is sweet, funny and super easy-going but will inform you if your hair looks dumb, etc. (God bless her soul) we are so glad Melissa was available to capture our big day � we also can't forget her trusty assistant Jake who got some awesome shots and also was quick to help out with my dress, my bouquet, etc. Love you guys! Melissa Kay Photography is my go-to photographer for my little family. Melissa is very professional and easy to talk to. She is patient which is very important when photographing small children. She captures the little glances between sisters and I am always thrilled when I get the photos back. She has taken our family photos a few times now, as well as newborn photos for my newest baby. I will absolutely be hiring Melissa for our family photos again in the future!
