Really cool off the beaten track fine dining family restaurant. Personalized service, impeccable flavor. Ordered rack of lamb and scallops with goat cheesecake . Crazy good. Worth the hour drive from Calgary.

I’ve lost track of how many years we’ve been patrons at the Longview Steak house but we were there again Nov 12 ‘17 and it continues to hold the place of “Best Restaraunt we’ve ever been” with a fair gap to second place.

Based on the reviews, I expected this steak house to feel kind of stuffy and pretentious. It was the complete opposite. It felt like we were being hosted in someone's beautiful ranch house, with a cozy atmosphere, gorgeous views, amazing service and the food was phenomenal. We may be coming here for every anniversary now. It was an hour drive for us and totally worth it. The drive was nice and makes for lots of time to talk - perfect for a date night!

We booked about 3 weeks in advance for our anniversary, everything was as advertised. Starting with the service, very friendly, professional and great personalities. The food was absolutely amazing, my wife and I both had steak and it was one of the best meals I've experienced. Great night, definitely will be back!!!

I had heard of the place. It was over and above what I expected. Excellent food served by a very friendly staff. The scenery is gorgeous at the foothills of the Rockies. A visit is a must.

Many have told me this place is amazing and they were not wrong. Lovely view, staff was very friendly and helpful. May just have been the best steak I have ever had. 👍

It took one time dining here before it became my favorite restaurant period. The staff are absolutly wonderful, the service is impeccable and the food is truly the best. The best steak I've ever had, and continues to be. I go a few times each year and the quality of everything never diminishes. It's always superb every time I go. I tell everyone and anyone if you have not been here you need to go. I wish I could give it more than five stars.

We take photos of all our eat-out-meals. But we forgot all about taking pictures, after the one of the salad starter, because the view took our breath away, the staff were entertaining and the food was so good we couldn't do anything but lick our lips, and chow down. This is one of the only times I got my steak as rare (blue) as I like it and and . it was flavoured right to the core, not just the outside. How do they do that???
My husband had rack of lamb that was one of the best he's ever had in his life. His salad was great with an interesting and delicious.
All over there are beautiful sculptures (carvings) but one in particular is carvings of horses crowded and climbing up the base of a huge tree. I wanted to buy it, but my husband draws the line here.
The sitting area near the entrance was a bonus even though we didn't have to wait in it for a table (we made reservations for 5 PM to beat the rush on a Thursday). There were the most beautiful pink lilies on the coffee table that smelled heavenly and lovely paintings on the walls to ogle over. The bathrooms were immaculate. To me that defines a quality establishment.
Do yourself a favour. Take a leisurely, scenic drive and tickle your palette. You won't regret it.response / report this review -

Fine dining in a completely surprising location with no pretentiousness. The most luscious steak you will ever eat, but everything else is also worthy of declaring "best ever". The Longview Steakhouse is a gem worth seeking out.

On all accounts this place is even better than the great reviews. This is not your usual fine steakhouse. The only issue is that they moved and the old address still shows up. Our party made reservations in October and couldn't get in until February. Make your reservations right now is my suggestion.
