Food was ok (Jaeger schnitzel)
Black Forest cake was good.
Quaint and cozy.
Table by the door was cold especially when people come and go.
Pop is $2.45 per glass (no free refills). That price should include free refills.

What a treasure -! Visiting Port Alberni and finding this restaurant with great Bavarian food. Great service - and very busy (easy to see why they are busy). Good idea to call ahead and make a reservation. Definitely will be one of the highlights of our trip to Vancouver Island.

We thoroughly enjoyed our delicious meal at your restaurant last Saturday night. The Devore was charming and the service was prompt and pleasant. Our compliments to the chef for the delicious schnitzel and accompanyments. The food is FIVE STAR PLUS! We wil definitely return to the Bavarian House Restaurant again.

Food is great! Reccomend reservations for dinner. Desserts are great too. Service is extremely friendly and the waiter is absolutely gorgeous! Love downtown Vancouver! 😄

This is a tiny little place in not the best part of town, but they serve the best food we've had for a long time.
We used to get wonderful schnitzel with spatzle at the now sadly closed Swiss Restaurant in Victoria, so when I saw this place and read their menu on-line we had to try it when we passed by. We came on a Tuesday evening, early, and they were so busy they had to squeeze us in. There was such a large selection of wonderful-sounding schnitzel choices that we couldn't decide, so in the end we had the Bavarian Platter that had three different schnitzels, a bratwurst, vegetables, cabbage, potatoes, and sauerkraut. Everything was wonderful, way too much food, but we were able to take some home and enjoy it the next day. Sadly, we had many miles left to drive so we could not sample from their wine and beer lists.

Great ethnic food - good wholesome tasty food - we'll be back. Only 2 others like it Gasthaus Peachland and a Bavarian restaurant in New West. ALL 3 are comparable and excellent.

Probably best food in town. Schintz els very good. Seems to be highest quality restaurant, based on other options available. Although I haven't tried the others.

We wanted to eat sea food so we chose the seafood combo. The room is nice and warm . is like whole family is here. Service is nice. Just perfect.
