  We have more in common with plants than meets the naked eye :

  How NOT to mulch your trees. We so often see trees with volcano mulching. Be kind to your trees by mulching OUT not UP.

  Ces photos explique comment poser et pas poser du pallis autour de vos arbres. Une erreur que nous voyons souvent, il y a meme des 'professionels' qui ne savent pas que cette methode, meme si ça fait un 'bel 'effet, est nuisible pour les arbres, et causera des problemes a long terme.

  Our chrysanthemums and other fall bloomers such as asters and echinachea will be arriving next week. Good for the bees, beautiful for your patio or garden !   Une 'mauvaise' herbe qui ne merite pas du tout le nom de mauvaise !

  Get to know this 'weed' Plaintain, and it,s amazing properties. including it's soothing effects on insect bites. Simply masticate and apply to the bite !

  Here in Sherbrooke pesticide use for cosmetic purposes is banned, however Roundup and other such pesticides are still available in local stores to anyone who wants to buy them . Les Serres Neville strongly encourages our customers to avoid chemical pesticide use, and, where ever you are, NEVER let a lawn care company spray your lawn with herbicides, no matter what excuse they might give you for doing so there is always another solution more in harmony with nature ! Here is a great story of one woman who fought for what is right, and won against all odds, including the chemical manufacturers. A good short read !

  In some places weeds are more valued, as they well should be ! Only missing my favorite and one of the most powerful : Stinging nettle !

  Everything you ever wanted to know about Japanese beetles, a relatively new insect on the scene here in the Townships.

  We DO NOT recommend using nay of the toxic products mentioned in this article, however we DO approve of hand picking, shaking them out onto a sheet in the early hours of the morning, and we can even provide the nematodes which are a safe way of controlling the grubs in your lawn.

  Nematodes must be advance ordered and treatment time is in the fall. Please call us for more info if you wish to place an order.
