This happened earlier tonight, around 5:30-6. She was working the round table cash, by the door.

    went in to buy whisky.
    I get carded.
its a necessary thing. I look and sound young.
So, I get carded, give them my card: no big deal.

    However,
Today I went in for whisky, as I usually do.. all the time. And I went to the register with my wallet in hand slipping out my id and my debit. But the woman working (50's black hair, thick black rimmed glasses, idiot customer service person) started the usual stuff by asking if I collect air miles. I put back my ID.

Then this woman looks up and cuts me this eye, realizing that she forgot to card me and I look young. She stops and gives me this look like I walked in with a sign on my chest that says "IM STEALING". But im in a line up full of people. So she just stops and stares at me like im a criminal, trying to steal or con her into selling me alcohol. She then rudely asks for my ID. So I give it to her and she pulls away her computer screen to input something.

    This is ridiculous.

I have to reiterate. I get carded all the time. They're doing their job.
I get it. Thats not what makes me upset, as a frequent patron of this LCBO

She was just exceptionally rude and assuming about it.

She gave me cut eye and stopped, then slowly asked for my ID in the rudest way possible.

It was humiliating, I was in a line up of people and singled out. I presented her my card, because I am of legal age and then I paid for my alcohol.

Now, I cant do anything because if I just go buy from another store, I'm still funding the same thing.
She should not have a customer service position, and Ill never get any sort of resolution for the humiliation she put me through. So here's me saying this because its literally my only output for it.

At every opportunity to push towards an Ontario where the monopoly of the LCBO is disintegrated I will be there pushing towards it.

I resent being made to feel like I did something wrong by purchasing alcohol well over the legal age. She should learn a thing or two about customer service before she's allowed to serve customers. Because that was just garbage work on her part.

I hope that woman loses her job or stubs her toe or something.

Lots of selection for craft beer, cider, and spirits. So far my favorite LCBO store.

At checkout they made the 4 of us show our IDs even though I was the only one buying anything. Nobody else touched any bottles. Some degenerate cashier tells us he wont sell us any alcohol because one of my friends was "pointing at it". To quote him: "He was pointing at the bottles, meaning he intends to drink it, I cant sell you it sorry, thats the law." I dont know what kind of flawed mook ass logic that is but Im probably going to keep my business to one of the other LCBO stores. By the way we promptly went to another LCBO and made our purchase quickly and easily with no hassle. Thanks for wasting everyones time, dumbass.
