Our friends at Through the Bamboo is doing a FREE staged reading this Saturday at the Young Centre for the Performing Arts! This all-Filipinx team has created an ensemble quest-fantasy for young audiences exploring grief, the connection between grandparent and grandchild and the importance of storytelling.
Co-written by CLUTCH Facilitator Andrea Mapili and directed + dramaturged by CLUTCH Mentor Nina Lee Aquino! Through the Bamboo has also appeared at Kultura!

Did you know there is a budding Little Manila in Toronto? Heritage Toronto is hosting a free walking tour in the Bathurst and Wilson neighbourhood on the same day as KULTURA and attendees can cap off their tour at Daniels Spectrum with a line by-pass at the KASAMA tent and a free San Miguel Beer Canada at the San Mig Patio!

This is the first time I attended Kultura. I had an amazing experience watching the talented performers, enjoyed the food and calamansi drink, and topped the day off with a San Miguel beer. It was a chill, nostalgic day for me. Looking forward to attending again next year. Thank you for carrying on the Filipino traditions and sharing our unique and beautiful culture with the community.

When you go to this event your are forced to buy tickets because the food vendors do not take cash. So I bought $15 dollars worth of tickets for main dishes and a couple of drinks.
There were only 6 food stalls to eat at and almost HALF OF THE STALLS WERE OUT OF FOOD and NONE OF THEM HAD DRINKS left to sell me. I tried to return my $2 in tickets and the people working there said they cannot refund it to me because it is against their policy.
Would you sell tokens in a casino where none of the slot machines are working without informing the customer? I don't think so this is just poor customer service and the representatives of the event are not being logical! I came to support the community but I just left with a bad taste in my mouth. Never again.I'm sure there are better run Filipino events out there.response / report this review -
