Inspiring Minds may be closed for the week, but that doesn't mean the adventures have stopped! The toddler room is transforming and beginning to feel more like home with the new flooring being installed by the crew from Scholten Flooring Inc. We are so excited to see what it will look like when it is finished! At the same time, Krista and Faye learned all about the water lines coming into our building! Thanks to Darryl from Wellesley Township and Sarba from the Region of Waterloo for their quick response to the gushing water and on Christmas morning. A huge thank you to Jeff, Aaron, and Jacob from Jantzi plumbing and Perry and Steve from P. Gingerich Excavating for coming to the rescue and fixing the line quickly so that we are ready for the return of the children next week. There's never a dull moment at IMELC. We wonder what new adventures and learning opportunities will happen in 2019!

To celebrate the season, Kinder-One and Kewlage took part in a backyard campfire at Faye’s home. Faye read a story called, “Early Christmas Among the First Nations’ and we all learned about how First Nations celebrated Christmas years ago. One of the missionaries wrote a carol in their native language and today, we sing the English version, "Huron Carol".
Along with reading and singing, we enjoyed some delicious cinnamon buns, popcorn and hot apple cider!
How Does Learning Happen is a document to which ECE professionals refer. It outlines four foundations of learning. This day we focused on “Belonging”. It was wonderful to gather together as a group for fellowship, community and Native Canadian culture.
