Historic hotel on the main circle. Nice updated rooms. Three floor walk up.

Went here for my mom's 60th birthday dinner. Large location, able to host large groups. Service was great considering the size of our large group, food was good, and came out in good time. Will definitely return.

if I could give a zero I would! The hotel had overbooked. When we checked in they informed us that they did not have a room for the second night and we would have to move to another motel far removed from downtown and to a room with one double bed, not two as had been reserved in May (and confirmed). We politely declined noting that the overbooking was their issue, not ours. Nonetheless on Saturday morning when we were hiking the Maitland Trail, they called and asked what we would like them to do with our belongings - so they not only ignored us but were actually going to put us out on the street. Eventually they sorted out their issue and deigned to allow us to stay. However there was no apology nor acknowledgment of the unnecessary stress and anxiety that they had caused. The folks at Hotel Bedford need to go back to hospitality school.

A solid 4 stars. Room was 204 which had a nice view of the square. Location could not be beat. Room was spacious, clean, and charming. Room came with fridge and stand alone air conditioning unit. Housekeeping did a load of laundry for $10 a load and they came back cleaner than ever (think 5 year old kid stains). Would definitely not hesitate to return to this hotel. It's an older hotel but as I said it had it's charms.

Beautiful historic building and patio.. We had dinner there, ordering the fish and chips. The food was ok. The portion of fish was very generous but the fries were not as crisp as preferred. The service was spotty at best. No refills on drinks and had food served before we even had cutlery and had to actually ask for a fork and knife which caused our food to cool before we could even start eating. The coleslaw looked like it was a week old looking dry and purplish. We asked for a new one which looked exactly the same as the one we sent back so therefore we could not enjoy a complete meal. We had to move tables outside 2 times because of other customers going unto sidewalk and hanging over railing to talk to friends while puffing away and letting the smoke linger over to patrons on the other side of railing. My friend and I are very allergic to cigarette smoke. We did comment to server and had the reply of oh well we tell them but they do not listen and continue to smoke on other side of railing allowing smoke to blow over to other customers on the patio. If we visited again we would definitely choose to eat inside because of lack of smoking policy enforcement. Too bad because the patio is lovely. and we originally had a beautiful spot by a creative array of summer plants.

The absolutey the best place to stay in Goderich, great access to the entire town, excellent staff, and the best restaurant on site. We enjoyed this visit and will return!

If you enjoy historic places to visit you will love this hotel. The smell is horrible when u first walk in and need to be rebuilt inside but couldnt help imagine all the old furniture and how it must have looked look when it was first built!

Dated hotel with historical charm. Free parking. Room was simple and clean (although my socks told a different story). For the price we were happy, location is great, charming town with a 20 minute walk to the beach. Also included a continental breakfast.
