Awesome place so sad it closed:( all staff were nice go here not fantastic sams
Unfortunately there was no option for "0" stars. Just took my son there one day ahead of his 4th birthday for his first real hair cut. We knew he would be scared and reluctant which is why we brought him to this place. Quoted directly from their website "Our stylists are also ready to share in your child's first hair cut; using proven techniques to ensure you and your little one have an enjoyable experience." Well let me just say that couldn't be further from the truth. Evelyn, our "stylist", just stood there poker faced while we were trying to convince our screaming son that everything will be ok. No smile, no words of comfort or encouragement, just an annoyed look while she said "well we can't do it if he's gonna move around like that". She didn't even talk to our son whatsoever. When I asked about their "proven techniques" she nonchalantly pointed to the kid's zamboni and a small tv playing the chipmunks movie. Hardly a "proven technique" but I maintained my composure and tried to comfort my son. I convinced him to sit on my lap in a regular chair while he was still struggling and while Evelyn was still visibly annoyed. She stepped away for a moment only to return and say "we can do it if he's moving around for safety reasons", which I agreed with and completely understood for obvious reasons, but she offered nothing other than her annoyed look. Not very comforting to anyone, especially a frightened child. We (my wife and I) were able to distract him with gum and stories while Evelyn did nothing more that use clippers, 2 different lengths, to "style" his hair. No wet spray, no scissors, no more than 5 minutes. Being the cordial people that we are we still thanked her several times and I even left a tip above the $16 and some change that we were charged for this horrendous and embarrassing service, all the while being face with Evelyn's look of annoyance. I understand that kids can be unpredictable and hard to handle at times, but please adjust the information on your website to reflect your true service and desire A quick cut for too much money. Evelyn in no way was "ready to share in your child's first hair cut; using proven techniques to ensure you and your little one have an enjoyable experience". What a complete joke. Also quoted from their website, included in the boy's hair cut "Includes: shampoo, cut, style w/ coloured hair gel". We saw none of that. The only good thing is that it lasted less than 5 minutes and hopefully easily forgettable because of that.
Very quick service (when they can take your little one in).
No complaints.
I've taken my son (under 2yrs) here twice and they have done a fantastic job on both occasions. We've been elsewhere and haven't had good experiences. We will definitely return to hipsnips for all his hair cuts.
I first went to Hip Snips because it was close by and I was looking for a new hairdresser. Found a great place, friendly staff and the best hairdresser I have ever had. Lori does a wonderful job, listens to what I want and offers suggests to make improve my style. I have had my hair done by Jennifer also and she does a great job as well.
I get so many compliments about my hair since I started going here. I will never go any where else.
