If you imagined a perfect motor hotel, this would be it. It's not fancy, but its charm, staff and basic necessities are all you need. Our group stayed on our way to Tofino and it made a perfect pitstop.
Very pleasant staff and warm welcome after a long day's travelling is always a good sign. The room was clean, nicely layed out, and was equipped for preparing light meals. Bathroom good. The location is just right for travellers with vehicles. Would have liked to give this place 5 stars, but it's not possible as the shower ran cold in the morning. Other than that, everything is exactly as specified and was actually a very nice economic place to stay for travellers on a budget.
Super nice staff... however... the rooms are terrible... there's not much included for the price.. the rooms only get cleaned ny request (no hotels/motels do that. You only skip a room if they have a "Do not disturb" I would know, I'm a certified cleaner) and we found a silverfish and a cockroach! The bathroom had rocks and plastic on the floor, and one of the rooms (at least) had no shower curtain! Also, what kind of hotel makes the guests wash dishes? While the staff is EXTREMELY friendly and I feel bad even doing this (which is the ONLY reason they get 2 instead of 1 star...), I would never advise anyone to stay here....
This place is run by the kindest, friendliest family, and we loved staying here! My partner and I arrived with no reservation on two fully loaded and slightly muddy touring bicycles, and they welcomed us, made us feel really at home, organised for us to have a ground floor room, and allowed us to keep our bikes in our room!
There are lots of useful flyers in reception and there's a laundry room with a big washer and dryer.
Very bike friendly, big smiles all round.
If your looking for a 5 star resort, this is not the place. If you want a clean comfortable room with friendly and accommodating owners and staff at an economical price, then this is the place. I was able to show up for meetings in Victoria fresh and rested. Nice 1 Hour drive to Victoria with beautiful stops along the way back.
Cute, simple little rooms. Good value and easy to find
Clean simple rooms. Very friendly staff, always helping us for any request we had.
Nice clean room. Comfy bed. Cafe next door. Easy highway access.
Basic outdated motel. TV is small, beds are oddly low to the ground and hard. Also, I found it frustrating that there is 1 plug in on the far wall(in front of the beds), so you can't charge your laptop, or cell phone while in bed, so that made it rather unpleasant. Other than that, it was fine. For nearly $100 per night, it's not worth it. It's maybe worth $60-70. The Best Western just 2 mins down the road in Chemanius has better outside views, an indoor pool and hot tub, faster wifi, supremely comfortable beds, big TV's, and a free breakfast that isn't your basic continental style, it has bacon, eggs, breakfast sausage, etc. All for $50 more per night, which, if you have a party of over 2, will make better financial sense since your breakfast cost will equal or be greater than the $50 extra.
The bed was comfy. There was an air conditioner which was nice. But the shower did not work and there were people coming and going at all hours of the night. Staff was upset cause it was so busy. So overall if u want a comfy bed go there but forget about taking a shower.
