Stayed At The Fort Yale Motel For A Few Weeks And Really Enjoyed My Visit The Staff Looking After The Motel Was Very Accommodating And Very Helpful With Anything I needed , There is Free WiFi And Netflix To Watch As Well As Interesting Trails In The Area If You Like To Go Hiking, There Is Also The Fort Yale Museum To Visit As Well As The Gas Station Across The Road If You Need To Buy Anything. I Would Recommend Staying There For A Short Or Longer Visit.

This place is a run down motel that is a fire hazard. I rented room #6 from Dennis Adamson (who is on the board of directors, Electoral Area B) for 700$ a month. That is who I gave the money (cash) to. The bathroom had no ceiling fan, just a hole in the ceiling, letting the rain in making the floor wet and using the toilet was like being outside. Black mold was everywhere in the bathroom. I had no satellite TV and I had to purchase Netflix myself. There was no microwave? The fridge and stove were from the 50's or 60's, which I did not even use. The wiring was too old and the room did not have a smoke detector that worked. The attic had either rats or racoons, you could hear them at night moving around. There was no weekly cleaning, and to let fresh air into the room you had to open the outside door. I finally quit paying the rent (Dec, 2016) because of false promises to fix this room or move me into another room. That is when my troubles began, my room was entered into at least four (4) times when I was gone and I had about $6.000 worth of gold and silver stolen. It was not a forceable entry either. A key was used to enter into my room and my belongings would be laying on the bed, letting me know someone was in my room, talk about being "bold." My complaints to the Hope RCMP fell on deaf ears, all they told me was if I don't like where I am staying I should just move out.? B.C. really lacks laws to protect you from "Slum Lords" who run motels like the Fort Yale Motel. "No fresh air act." I could not even get a fire inspector or building inspector in the area to do anything about this place., like inspect it? My recommendations is stay away from this Motel.

Yale is a very small historical town and there are not too many choices with regards to accommodation. There are a couple of bread and break fasts and in addition this is pretty much the only motel in the town. Before booking the motel, I could not find any reviews about this place on the internet, so I decided to be the first one to write something so that others can find some help.
Fortyale is a very basic but clean motel. The beds and the wash room were clean. The bath room was a bit old but had clean towels and soap. You can park your car right infront of the room. There was a TV in the room with dish channels. The staff was polite. But jsut keep in mind that the ownership is changing as of July 1, 2010, so I do not know how the new owners will be. The roof was being changed when we were there and they were talking about some more renovations to come. There is no restaurant on the site or even in the town. The closest one are perhaps in the city of Hope. But there are two grocery sourses. One in the gas station just infront of the motel and the other one at the Barry's trading post just outside the town probably half minute driv e from the motel.
The only problem there is, is the train noise during the day and especially at night. If you are light sleepers, that can be a problem. But this is not motel's issue because whole town gets this noise. May be bring ear plugs with you.
Overall, we were not expecting much and for the price we paid for 4 people staying in the room, it was worth.response / report this review
