As the owner of Fix It Females it is part of my duty to stand up for my company and for my staff. After discussing with one of the group members mentioned in my post prior, the picture attached was the original job posting that was used amongst the group. Claiming it says all female run, when in fact it says right here, predominately female renovations. I want to clear the air by saying I am not targeting the group or attacking them as they are saying I am now. I am simply defending my company and the rights to owning a predominately female run company. If a previous staff member of mine took it upon themselves to write a post it should not reflect my company when it is not associated with me. Any of our posts come from either the company Facebook page or my personal account. If it was posted by or from fix it females or the owner, then it would be slightly different. I am not here to “attack” or destroy anyone’s groups or reputations, but it’s not fair when things are being discussed or talked about in their group without my knowledge or the right to defend myself. I apologize if this has offended anyone but it is the truth and that is what I will always stand behind. To my clients and staff that have ever worked with, been an employee for or are thinking of hiring us. We treat our staff and clients fairly. If you ever want to know the truth about something or someone, go to the source. The truth is in our company, our moral, and our staff.

Hey Facebook: There’s been some recent controversy surrounding Fix It Females in a group called ETYMV renovations. And since they declined my invitation to stand up for my company I will be tagging them in this post. It is said that Fix It Females is all male owned and operated and that we pay our employees an unfair wage. I can’t help what people will say, especially a disgruntled ex employee or an angry client, but here is some clarification. Despite what you may hear or what you think you know, we do what’s called a trail day, where for $120 for the first day we try out our potential employee to see how they/he/she/ performs work and then we base a salary, not hourly, on the skills they possess. Whether or not we hire them, they are still paid for the trial day. We also provide benefits, company vehicle with paid gas, company cell phone, and we only work Monday to Friday to allow our staff the freedom of weekends. We pay holiday and vacation pay, and allow a number of sick days that are paid as well. As for the fact that we hire men? yes! of course we do, why wouldn’t we? we do not discriminate against any gender, and do not confine or limit our options when hiring people based off of how they identify themselves sexually, or their sexual preference. We are non biased, non bindary and create a safe place for ANY gender to work in. If people have a problem hiring us because we have diversity and a variety of people on our team, then we wouldn’t want to work for them anyways. And If you don’t hire us because we placed an add on a bunz group that was posted by a male who happens to work for my company, then maybe you should be re-evaluating the way you view the world and it’s current changes instead of judging our company. I welcome you all to have a look at our photos in our clients homes and see what an incredible team we have. I, Annastacia Plaskos am the sole owner and operator of Fix It Females. A name I created to attract more females into the field, to offer a safe haven for all to work in, and to eliminate the intensity when trying to apply for a predominantly male dominated industry. It’s hard to try and work for a contractor, especially when they discriminate against you because of your sexuality it’s even harder to work for a client with the same mentality. Fix It Females redid our entire kitchen, right down to the studs. They were a real pleasure to deal with and the craftsmanship was excellent. They worked with us through supplier issues and all number of unexpected items that came up. The entire team was committed to giving us exactly what we wanted and we're thrilled with our new kitchen. You know what's great? When people stand behind their work. We had our Washroom renovated with the Ladies over a year ago. There have been some issues with caulking and silicone not behaving like it should. I called them hoping for a referral to an odd jobs specialist, and they took came back and took care of it. We decided to have Fix It Females renovate our 3rd-floor bathroom and we were glad we did. Anastacia and her crew were just wonderful people to work with. They worked with us right from the beginning with choosing the colours, style, and design of the bathroom right to the very end. Even when we had one or two unexpected hiccups, they went out of their way to find a solution. They made renovation "fun" and how many companies can you say that about. Annastacia and her crew fully renovated our basement, including removing a bathroom and creating a new one in a different spot, removing walls and putting up new ones, tiling, painting, electical and plumbing. They literally transformed our basement from something that was hardly usable (and sort of embarrassing), to a part of our house that we simply can’t get enough of and one that we want everyone to see. Throughout the process the Fix It Females team respected our time, space and needs as a family and took every one of our thoughts, ideas, concerns and questions seriously. They were organized and professional.

It’s not often that you get to meet a group of people that are so passionate about what they do and take so much pride in their work. One of the many things that impressed us about Annastacia and her team was their commitment to open and honest communication. Our renovation was a large and sometimes daunting project; not everything went exactly as planned. Their willingness to communicate with us every step of the way helped us understand what was happening and why. When things were stressful, what shone through was their desire to get everything right. Annastacia's focus was always making us, the customer, happy.

We are so grateful to Fix It Females for getting to know us, for listening to what we wanted and for taking all of our hopes and dreams for our space and turning them into reality.

I hired Fix It Females to complete a bathroom renovation on a recommendation from a friend. Although I didn't know what to expect, I felt after meeting Annastacia, that I was dealing with someone who was knowledgable, had integrity and was hard-working. There were little challenges that came up as the job unfolded, but Annastacia and her team managed them with calm, professionalism and ease. Dialogue was on-going throughout the job. One night, her team stayed until 8:30pm, working to meet deadlines. The job was well-priced and everything that was agreed to and discussed, was done. The timeline alotted was 2-4 wks and the job was completed within that time period. Bravo!

This is a dynamic, young, energetic and knowledgable team. You will be hard-pressed to find a more honest, dedicated group of individuals, who provide excellent results. I will post pictures when the bathroom is fully accessorized.

Well done! I am so happy I found Fix It Females. They will be my go-to company for future renovations.

We hired Fix It Females to re-do our bathroom and were very happy with the result. Annastacia set reasonable expectations, kept her promises, and was good at communicating with us . The work was completed within the timeframes outlined, and there were no unpleasant surprises and no hidden costs. She and her team were always professional, courteous and honest. We were on a tight budget with tight timelines, and they were able to accommodate our needs in both regards. We would definitely hire Annastacia and her team at Fix It Females again.

The team replaced the ceiling in a bedroom that had severe water damage from a leak. They were clean, professional and did a very good job. Annastacia answered all of our questions, kept us in the loop of changes to the quote and the scope of work. The team worked very quickly as they knew that our family was staying elsewhere to avoid the dust and noise of the demo. Good job!

Fix it females were a great call for all the work that needed to be done at my grandfathers house. It was an older house that needed serious TLC. I had called and looked around other places to high quotes not professional at all. When I heard about fix it females at first I was skeptical, females doing hard labourous work. But I had called and received an amazing quote. They came in started the work and as the time past I was in amazement with they quality of their work. The floor is now killer. We had FIFs finish our semi-finished basement. The floor was very uneven concrete and we didn't have a lot of head room to work with. After getting a few quotes we decided to go with FIFs. Annastacia was very easy to talk to and followed through on everything she said she and her team could do for us. She was very conscientious about her work. We had to negotiate pitching in with a couple of the little jobs in order to keep our costs down, but Annastacia was very reasonable. FIFs' main priority was having the job done in a sound, timely and aesthetically pleasing way. Overall we are quite happy. I would hire FIFs again. I wholeheartedly recommend Annastacia and her team. I will post pics with finishing touches.
