Interesting: I read the reviews here, after the fact. It seems to be a hit or miss restaurant. My first (and last) experience was disappointing enough to warrant this review (I try to focus on the positive, but wish someone would have warned me, in this case).
I eat in and around the greater Montreal area regularly. The service, here, was sub-par and the steak (returned once for being over cooked) was over cooked, both times. We had
Appetizers:
Mini risotto (pretty good)
Baguette with 3 toppings (pretty good)
Mains:
pizza (mediocre, at best)
linguini primavera (dry, rather tasteless)
seafood linguini (all right)
Steak (asked for medium rare, over cooked by a mile, returned, still way over cooked on second attempt)
Dessert:
Tartuffo (all right)
Tiramisu (awfulit’s an Italian restaurant�)
Cheesecake (all right)
- 3 mains (of 4) were served, no warning of hot plates, and the birthday girl had to wait for hers, so we all waited
- steak should have been removed from bill, as it was returned once, failed a second time(over cooked), but person was hungry and ate it
- one owner (apparently) is the manager and another is the chef
- I asked to speak to the manager, explained I would still pay the bill, but the steak had been over cooked. Manager/owner insisted the chef said to charge it, was apathetic, acted helpless and sent over another person, not the waitress, with the machine
- the waitress disappeared during the meal and finally refilled water, only after a request. She disappeared again, after the steak return
- I still explained (to no avail) my disappointment and felt stonewalled
I haven’t experienced such lack of attention and apparent disregard for repeat business in several years, anywhere. I dine out frequently, during lunch and dinner rushes, downtown, Old Montreal, West Island and more
I will not be returning.
Bill (20% tip, as I didn’t want to impede on a birthday celebration): $200, BYOW

Service with the family touch. I had the Risotto Funghi and Tiramisu for desert, it was excellent! The cappuccino is so good as well. Great place to take your friends and family.

We used to love this restaurant, but I found that the food is not as good as it used to be. We were 12 people to celebrate my daughters birthday. Our reservation was for 6 o'clock which was the first seating. By 7:45 we felt as were being rushed out. I won't be back

Worst restaurant experience to date. We had reservations for 35 people at 8 pm. They were under the impression that we had reservations for 55. We were finally seated just before 9 pm. Our plates came at 10 pm which is unacceptable for a group with children. When we asked if we could ever from the fixed menu to add appetizers since everyone was starving we were told that the kitchen wouldn't have it. Apparently they don't want the additional business. To top things off, my meal was horrible. How can you screw up chicken?!?

Walked in for 2, no reservation, took us in anyway on a Friday night! I had arugula salad and homemade sweet potato gnocchi with a wine mushroom sauce, both delicious! Gnocchi cooked just right!! Excellent team service!!! Ambiance warm and cozy!! Lovely place!!

Won't go there anymore. We had a reservation at 6 for 9 people Everything was good until the food comes. I ordered the arancinis which was overcooked —or should I say overfried— but good. I heard the pizza wasn't that good so I took the basic bolognese pasta and was big time disappointed. Food presentation was bad so was the taste. Good service but waitress was a bit too much. I thought it's a nice place so I dressed up. Turned out it wasn't really. Never really went to a nice restaurant in the West Island and this one definitely doesn't make the cut

RANT! � Utterly disgusted with the service tonight! We went to celebrate a family dinner and had reservations for 6 people for 6pm. We finished appetizers and dinner at 7:45 and wanted coffee and desert. The waitress informed up that she COULD NOT serve us because they needed the table. We were shocked!!! We informed her that we were not ready to leave and that we expected desert and coffee. She spoke to the manger and returned and said that she could bring us desert but she would have to bring the bill immediately after. Fine. So literally 5 minutes later, everyone's coffee and desert was on the table along with the bill. The manager came to the table twice to check to see if we were ready to pay. My mother in law expressed her disappointment to him, saying that if we had been made aware that we could only dine for 1 3/4 hours, then we never would have made the reservation. He rudely responded that he had written 7:45 in his book. So what?! How would we know that?! He looked at my MIL credit card and started to call her by her first name and say "calm down; everything is ok," which only infuriated us all more! No apology, no respect for his customers! Our bill was quite significant as everyone's meal was at least 40$ each.this is how you treat your paying customers?! I am so disgusted! None of us will be returning and I will be sure to share my experience with others.

Great waiter, nice looking place But very, very slow kitchen, meals took forever to get served! And the food was less than impressive for 8 out of 13 of us. Don't bother trying, just go somewhere else!

Great service, great food and great atmosphere. We eat here often and we are never disappointed. The staff is attentive and the food is delicious. A dining highlight of the West Island.

I will never recommend this restaurant Famiglia et Co. to anyone, treated terribly. requested a reservation for 6:30 i was asked if i could come at 6 because they like to have 2 seatings. i was accommodating not a problem. however when it got to 7:45 the waitress came by and said that they need the table. i asked if we could at least have coffee and dessert, she went to ask the owner and he said okay but to bring the bill at the same time. 20 minutes later the owner starting clearing the table while we were still seated unacceptable behavior, you know that if the food was delicious it would compensate, but it is not even that good if you have another option for a restaurant take it don't bother with this one

I rarely write reviews for restaurants, but I just had to after my first visit here. Firstly, excellent friendly service. The food? Best Italian in the city, yeah like seriously. In the West Island! This will be a staple for us.

Wanted to go for a while, finally went for my father-in-law's Birthday beginning of March. Very good service, very good food, loved the staff. Was there with 2 toddlers and was pleasantly surprised on how accommodating the staff was. Will see you again soon!
