Great experience. The security staff, the embassy personnel inside, everyone is very nice. It was also efficient once inside and things worked like a clock. I wish the wait time to get documents was significantly shorter, because the actual process in the embassy was short and sweet.
Very nice people and smooth processing system. Come at least 2 hour early to attend your interview in time and don’t bring anything with you for avoiding security protocols. You just need to be calm, quite and humble with the visa inspector and answer the questions properly.. Overall my experience is outstanding.
You can only bring your phone or car key inside and store it at the security before your interview. The visa officer is very friendly and nice. The visa interview process as smooth as possible within 40minutes i am done with everything.
Amazing experience. The securities at the front (especially the 3 from today) are amazing. Happy, helpful and sympathetic. Their kindness is much appreciated.
Many reviews complain about the rules of no bag, etc. it is clearly stated at the front and common sense at any embassy.
Thank you to the securities and the reps helping me to renew my passport.
Great service!!!
DO NOT BRING A BACKPACK! This rule is not communicated anywhere, and it is absurd--people need a way to carry documents and not everyone is coming by car. They had zero sympathy for our situation (not having anywhere to stow the backpack) and none of the merchants would hold it (they said they are asked all the time--evidence that the embassy does not adequately communicate this unreasonable rule--and would not do so for liability reasons). I ended up burying my backpack in a pile of snow across the street!
Otherwise, the service was generally good. But it's nearly impossible to get an appointment for children's passport renewals (there were no other openings in virtually any US embassy in all of Canada for months!) and no way to talk to them on the phone. Given this, I expected it to be very crowded. But we were the only patrons there during the space of like an hour--while a dozen employees just sat around twiddling their thumbs. They can easily service way more people than they are. Plus, the system requires you to make a separate appointment per person--which is a really insane rule for families given the very limited appointments there are. But nobody cares--this is a dehumanizing institution.
