Dance 4 you is happening tonight from 6:00-7:30 PM in SSMU room B-29. We have a special guest choreographer - it is going to be fun !!
Just take Ananya Madhok's word for it- Dance is FUN!
"You can never go wrong with dance. It's fun, gets your body moving and makes you really energetic! For someone who felt somewhat stiff and awkward while dancing (not something you'd want to see), the music and dance environment really brought out a new level of energy, flexibility and motivation in my life!" Thanks Ananya!
Dance 4 you is happening THIS Tuesday February 27 from 6-7:30 pm in SSMU room B-29 (in the basement) we have a veryyyyyy special session with guest choreographer Manila Sharma who will lead us through an energetic fusion dance work out!
Manila has courageously shared her thoughts on what dance means to her 😊 “I would like to share a personal anecdote about dance: When I came here from India I didn’t know any other styles of dances, but I wanted to learn. So finally first year of high school I got into a variety show and performed with a group of girls for the first time ever. After the show everyone told me that I was cute and chubby on stage. No one complimented my dancing but all the other girls got compliments. This was extremely heartbreaking I wanted to give up dancing but i love it so much and I realized that for me to perform was a stepping stone and that it can only go up from there. So fast forward my final year of high school not only did I perform and killed it but I also hosted the show. I try to keep this attitude towards everything I tackle in life. There will always be road blocks but I just have to remember that I am my biggest critic and if I don’t try I’ll regret it more than if I fail.”

Here is a nice reminder to always practice gratitude, thanks Sangeetha Santha : "I am grateful for the learning opportunities that have been presented to me over the past year – especially in terms of self-growth. Dance has played an instrumental role in not only acting as a de-stressor, but giving me an opportunity to explore styles that I would have never thought of trying. I am also grateful for the supportive family and friends that I can always count on to get through the rough days and celebrate the good days. Here’s to you, mis amigos."

Stressed with midterms? job hunting? life?
Dance4You is back this semester with a nice way for you to relax, destress and give yourself some love and care!
Our theme this week is Redefining Individuality, where we will reflect on the topic of what and who defines us and why?
The first half of the session will be dedicated to an activity around this week's theme and the second half will be our time to dance all that midterm stress out!
SO, bring a friend, some water, a small towel and a great attitude!
Also, just a disclaimer: you do NOT need to know how to dance in order to come along to our session. If you're amazing at dance, that's great. If you're not so amazing at dance, that's alright too!
