Now Hiring Being a barista at Cortado Tasting Room means to be on stage and performing. However, more often than not, we are in the back stage, carrying out daily tasks that contribute to our customers' experience. We are looking for those who love to share coffee passion with customers. But more importantly, we are looking for those who appreciate and value the little responsibilities and supports that add up to a positive and fulfilling working environment.

Has anyone noticed that Joe hasn’t been at work in forever? Or that when he is in the café, he’s been brimming with (even more) giddy energy? That’s because July has been a BIG month for him! Joe got married to his Gina a couple of weeks ago (our very own Beth was their officiator), AND see that bump under the dress (swipe!) They’re expecting a baby barista in February! So Calgary is Canada's coffee power house. Maybe this happens when you have passionate pioneers like @philandseb , or you have cettain somebody dominating the competitions! @benjaminput @monogramco and let's not forget @transcendcoffee doing wonders just a few hours away! @poulmark . Whatever their secret may be, we are super happy and excited to bring coffee from Calgary each and every time. And this time we have finally brought in @rossocoffeeroasters ! We have Don Joel Black Honey in our feature espresso grinder this weekend. We have some beautiful Rwandan and Brazil coffee on our shelves and at our manual brew bar as well! Cole from Rosso just finished 5th place at the World Barista Championship in Amsterdam last week! And yes. Coffee was amazing, staff were so nice! Would be back for sure. My only suggestion would be that the seating wasn’t very comfy, didn’t feel cozy and pretty limited for how busy it was. Guess that’s a good thing, I would have loved to have been able to ask some questions about the unique coffees they have there and what they mean. But I didn’t really feel it appropriate due to how packed it was. I will try to go back when it’s less busy to experiment a little. Great experience though.

I ordered cappuccino and asked that coffee will be not roasted much. Asked that taste will be more like Latte. I was charged for cappuccino and for Latte too! Capuchino was bitter, roasted much not tasty at all. But it cost more than at Starbaks. Never will back there.

Absolutely the best coffee I have had in North America. I’ve been searching for something that would give me a similar taste and quality to what I have had in Europe. My first sip took me back to that first morning in Paris last year.
On top of the high quality coffee, the service was phenomenal. Such care was taken to make sure we were happy with our experience. Cortado Tasting Room will be a regular stop for me!response / report this review -

I've been here many times now and still have no complaints. The staff are very friendly, the atmosphere is cozy, the drinks are excellent (and there are so many to choose from!), and I'm not sure if it was the owner whom helped me to pick out coffee beans for my new French press, but he was very knowledgeable, friendly, and enthusiastic. He knows his stuff, and loves what he does.. so refreshing to see. Cortado is my #1 (and only) cafe of choice.

This place will become a regular for me, and an opportunity to experiment with preparing coffee in different ways. Staff are friendly and the coffee was great. We had a chicken on bagel and it was a generous size.

Favourite place to get coffee, food, relax, and get some work done! Such an inviting atmosphere with some of the best staff and management I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. The large variety/specialty of products and not only knowledgable but caring staff take the coffee experience to another level and will be a weekly/daily spot for me from now on. I encourage anyone who hasn't had the opportunity to check Cortado out to make it their next coffee stop! Truly a wonderful business that will never disappoint and will most likely grow to be your favourite too!

Cortado is bar none, my absolute favorite coffee spot in HRM, and probably anywhere truth be told. Went in tonight with my wife, and was treated to excellent service and excellent product again as usual. This place has a great vibe, the decor is very modern casual with exposed beams, wooden tables and just an overall relaxed environment. This evening I even got to pick the tunes, so we listened to some Gary Clark Jr., while sipping on our Apple Cider Chai's which were oh-so-delicious. Joe always has a welcoming smile, and you can tell that it's important for him to see his customer's satisfied. I really feel privileged to have this place in my neighborhood and I hope to enjoy it for years to come.

Cortado is like no other. They have a cool and elegant style and an amazing presentation. The food is delicious and flavourful. They have a variety of healthy options and lots of yummy treats too. The people are super nice and can answer all of your questions. If you haven't been you defiantly have to check it out!

I finally visited this fine, spacious establishment after hearing great reviews! The ambience was inviting and staff very accommodating and patient as I asked many questions. I watched a special coffee being brewed for a friend and since there were so many options and couldn't decide, I ended up having the best cappuccino ever! I will be back. A wonderful variety of yummy lunch items and snacks await! Returning very soon!
