CCMA has been operating for 10 years.
In order to help make musical education more affordable, CCMA awards various scholarships to students. These scholarships cover part of the student’s expenses and are applied towards tuition fees at CCMA. Everyone of our students is welcome to apply for scholarships.
Our teachers are highly professional and qualified. All of them have their university degrees in Music and many have their Masters. As well, our teachers have many years of teaching experience. We have several RCM examiners on our staff as well as a former Broadway performer.
Our director, Ella Kamenetsky, earned her PhD in Piano Performance in Europe. She is the President and founder of the York Region Music Festival and sits on the Board of Directors of the Kiwanis Music Festival. Ella has taught and performed all over the world including Russia, Europe, Middle Asia and Canada. Her students have won numerous awards at Kiwanis, Peel, Markham, and other prestigious competitions including a Silver Medal for the best results at RCM examinations. She gives free consultations to all of our students.
CCMA offers individual, semi-private and small group classes. Classes are available for a large range of instruments including piano, keyboard, violin, guitar, drums, trumpet, recorder, flute, vocal, clarinet, saxophone, theory, cello, musical theater and string orchestra.
Our students have won 104 Scholarships and awards at our York Regional Music Celebration Festival sponsored by CCMA conservatory of music.
Each year in June, CCMA host annual recitals for our student to perform and show off what they have learned. This helps students develop their self-confidence, improve their performing skills and assists them to plan further advancement.
As well, we offer the option of fast tracking for students where they can complete 2 to 3 RCM levels in just one year of study. For students interested in fast tracking, we use a special teaching method where our teachers assist students in accelerating their progress.
Internal exams are another option for students. These exams follow the criteria of RCM exams but take place at the Conservatory. We also send our students to external RCM exams. In the past, they have gotten some of the highest marks in Ontario (This year, we have marks as high as 99%).
We offer a free assessment. For children without any previous experience in music, this assessment is designed to help determine your child’s interest, aptitude, ear for music, rhythm and coordination in music. For students who are currently studying music, this assessment helps determine if your child is developing his or her talent to its fullest potential.
