  Amazing experience! The delivery driver was backed up and unable to bring us our food..the gentleman answering the phone, Mathew ended up delivering it for us rather then make us wait!! Will go back, incredible experience!!!! He was so polite and amazing!!!

  Decent food. Servers can speak decent English. Wide selection of typical congee faves. Typical prices. Less busier than other congee places.

  Ever since this place changed hands a year or so ago, it's gone steadily down hill. Food was below mediocre, meat wasn't fresh, little seafood in seafood dishes.

  Really good good. Fast meal preparation. Congee Star is certainly able to feed a small or large group. House special fried rice is an easy pic. But hey, its called Congee Star, pick one of their many delicious options. Not only is it good for you, but you will also broaden your culinary spectrum. Parking is a breeze. The only reason I didn't rate it ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐, is due to the decor. It needs an update. So if that is a driver for you, keep that in mind.

  Good place with a big menu. I like their green bean with minced pork and anchovies dish. Lots of servers and pretty good service for a Chinese restaurant. Not overly busy or any line ups usually.

  Good food, mostly Cantonese-style. Huge menu, generous portions at great prices. Waitstaff is quick, but the kitchen can be slow during peak hours.
  
  Their congee is expertly done, as are the many seafood dishes. The place is crowded and noisy, as is common for this genre, although their booths offer a bit of privacy, if you're lucky enough to get one. Please note: THEY DO NOT HAVE A LIQUOR LICENSE.
  
  They also offer free delivery, with minimum order of $30 (not $25 as it says on their site!). There's ample parking. Bring cash - they take credit, but some of their special offers are only available if you pay cash or debit.

  I've been here several times before, usually when Congee Queen is too busy. Nothing special. The quality of food is average at best, and the service is often below average. However, I recently ordered delivery and had a bad experience. After being put on hold, I was finally told that delivery would take about an hour as the delivery driver had just left. I was speaking in English although I understand Cantonese and I could hear the person taking the call speaking to the driver (in Cantonese) while she was on the phone with me. Clearly she was lying, but nothing outrageous, I wasn't in a rush. Two hours later, I get a call from the driver telling me she was downstairs. She asked if I wanted her to come up, which I found odd given I had provided my buzzer number and instructions to come up to my door as I was not feeling well (the reason I got delivery in the first place). I told her yes, and she was very irritated at my request. A few minutes later she calls me to tell me she couldn't find my unit and that she was in the lobby waiting for me. I know a delivery driver may not be highly educated, but I found it astounding that she could not count numbers on a door, or would return all the way downstairs rather than just call me from the floor where I could just open my door. (probably another lie, although I have no proof) I go down to meet her. She is clearly irritated that I took 5 minutes to get dressed, as I had not expected to leave my apartment. I pay her cash. She refuses to provide me with change and storms off. My food was over an hour late in optimal weather conditions. It was cold, and not well cooked. I was not given my change even though I had clearly stated when placing the order I would be paying cash. This is the first review I have ever written on Google. I highly advise against providing this place any business. Congee Queen is near Congee Star and provides far higher quality in both service and product.
