Do not get this review wrong with the rating, I love this store but there are major flaws to it that still make me wish it was Extra Foods. The deals are good, and the prices are affordable. Quite often however, I have found that certain shelves aren't stocked and some products aren't always front faced, such as the canned soup and jugs of milk. While the availability of jobs is not in short supply a few employees have quit their jobs their, and a majority of them from either being blamed for something they did not do or for hearing the store manager yelling at their fellow co-worker. On multiple occasions myself or a family member has asked an employee for assistance and they didn't know how to help us. I can understand the store manager's ideas of how employees should work, but she should know exactly how her employees are preforming. One final point is that the Melfort Independent Grocer is starting to gain a relatively negative reputation among young workers as quite a few people hear some of the rumours and stories that come from employees. I will continue to shop at this store for the time being, but I really do hope to see it improve or I will see myself swapping over to getting groceries at the Co-Op.

P.S.: If the manager of Independent is reading this review, I would not even bother trying to track the writer of this review.

Independent's since they changed names from Extra Foods they are pricey. More of a selection but stock is limited.

Cindy's Independent is an improvement over the old store. Vegetables are better, store has more options.

Quality items and affordable prices with great deals. Contains everything you could possibly need. Has a great staff, especially since it crossed over to Independent Grocer from ExtraFoods.
