Happy Nunavut day to all of our alumni, friends, and partners celebrating today!
July 9th marks 25 years since Nunavut was created as a recognized territory within Canada.
Last August the Canada C3 expedition spent time sailing through Nunavut, visiting welcoming communities and taking in incredible landscapes. Here are a few memories from our time spent in Nunavut almost one year ago.

Le 9 juillet marque le 25e anniversaire de la création du Nunavut en tant que territoire reconnu au Canada.
En août dernier, l'expédition Canada C3 a passé du temps à traverser Nunavut, à visiter des communautés accueillantes et à découvrir des paysages incroyables. Il y a presque un an, voici quelques souvenirs de notre séjour au Nunavut.

Last night we hosted a successful premiere screening of the documentary at the Canadian Museum of History in Ottawa and we are thrilled to announce that the documentary will be FREE with admission to the museum throughout the summer.

Happy National Indigenous Peoples Day!
On June 21st, 2017, Canada C3 attended festivities in the Innu community of Pessamit for what was then called National Aboriginal Day. It was a great evening of food and games. One year later, we celebrate National Indigenous Peoples Day to acknowledge the historical contributions and cultural importance of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis communities in Canada. In celebrating this day, we also note that the change in official title reflects the important role that language plays in better understanding our relationship to each other and the land we live on. We encourage everyone to check out these resources mapping Indigenous languages and territories.

Bonne Journée nationale des peuples autochtones!
Le 21 juin 2017, Canada C3 a assisté aux festivités de ce qui s’appelait alors la Journée nationale des Autochtones dans la communauté innue de Pessamit. Pour l’occasion avait été organisée une excellente soirée ponctuée de jeux et de bons petits plats. Un an plus tard, nous célébrons la Journée nationale des peuples autochtones afin de reconnaître les contributions historiques et l’importance culturelle des Premières nations, des Inuits et des Métis au Canada. En célébrant cette journée, nous soulignons également le fait que le changement de titre officiel reflète le rôle important que joue la langue pour mieux comprendre nos relations que nous cultivons les uns avec les autres et avec la terre sur laquelle nous vivons. Nous encourageons tout le monde à consulter ces ressources qui cartographient les langues et territoires autochtones.

The Canada C3 Science legacy is searching for a Post Doc Candidate!
Apply now to work at UBC analyzing a pan-Canadian data set of environmental DNA. This is a diverse project that may require travel throughout Canada, organization of workshops, and an ability to communicate effectively with a range of scientific and non-scientific audiences.

Happy #WorldEnvironmentDay from everyone at Canada C3! Today brings back fond memories of celebrations on the ship last June 5th. Programming included a presentation by Oji-Cree Elder Bernard Nelson, a Youth Forum moderated by the Honourable Catherine McKenna, Minister of Environment and Climate Change and Education Team Lead Lisa (Diz) Glithero, + musical performances from Rocky Dawuni and members of the Tragically Hip!
Joyeux #JournéeMondialedelEnvironnement de la part de l’équipe Canada C3! Le 5 juin rappel des bons souvenirs de célébrations à bord le navire. Wow! Thank you so much for the powerful experience during the ship to shore show in Brockville, this voyage and the stories and music are so inspiring. So much to think about from women to water to fire and family and how Canada is like a canoe, I'm filled with hope for how we can get there

30 years ago I did this trip on the World Discoverer -we never got passed Bellot Strait due to 10/10 ice..that's the thickest..we had an ice breaker 'The Pierre Desgroseillers' along with us but even she couldn't make way. We bunkered her in Prince Regent Sound and went north to Grise Fjord and to Kaine Basin off Ellesmere Island ..furtherest north for any cruise ship at that time.. it was a magical journey which terminated in Halifax. My Dad and brother both worked in the Canadian Coast Guard, my brother retired after 30+ years in service. I believe this is an opportunity for all Canadians to learn and appreciate what this means and the impact to their families. And what a magnificent country we have, 250,000 miles of coastline wow, an ocean on 3 sides. And such a diverse culture, so cool to be Canadian ��� Happy 150 ����

Hi I learned about you today from W5 which was aired moments ago in ctv Toronto. I am so impressed and proud of what are doing. I followed you on evey social media you got and soon I will go to ROM ( museum) here in Toronto to learn more about C3. I have told my kids about C3 now and soon I will tell my friends and families . Thanks for this golden opportunity to learn about Canada and its people on its north region and more.

Following this project, and being part of the process as an applicant, has been a great way to quick off Canada's 150th celebration. I am so looking forward to seeing this expedition gather steam as it gets underway in just a few short weeks. What an amazing way to share some of our nation's most remote communities and spaces with all Canadians.

Great idea, except the Southern Coast of Canada really starts at Thunder Bay, not Toronto. So this grand concept is wrong as it does not encompass the entire Southern Coast of Canada. Apparently these people who thought of this idea of the Coast to Coast to Coast didn't realize that Toronto in not the beginning of the Southern Coast of Canada.

Canada C3 is a journey like no other a chance not for participants but followers to better get to know the beauty and diversity of this great country and its people and to understand some of the challenges we face in the future if we want to make Canada an even better place than it is today.

I found it to be a whole lot of nothing. There was nothing at all for the public: no tours, Not even an information table set up so the public could find out about this!!!! No one on shore to even talk to the public!!! The one person on board that I did talk to even said they have nothing at all planed for the general public!! They where just in Brockville to get supplies and get to Prescott for all the events there!!!

Canada C3 is a really exciting project lead by awesome Canadians, dedicated to sharing in the journey and talking about the issues surrounding Canada's 150th birthday. C3 media platforms are constantly updating with coo pictures,l videos and live chats as the participants travel around the coasts of Canada. I love living vicariously through the daily updates and learning about Canada in all her glory from aboard the C3!!!

You know?..I love the concept of celebration..I love that it's a non-profitI love that young people are included and will learn.I love our Country, I love many many countriesbutthere's no need to go through the northern waters.you're giving credence to others to follow, to bring their tourist boats through sensitive waters.it's too delicate for such vessels for such a venture.stay out of our north!!! please?????

I had the privilege of seeing the Polar Prince being ready for this once in a lifetime journey. Congratulation to each of the youth that were chosen for a leg in the 150 days. What an opportunity Tomorrow is the big launch from Toronto and I look forward to following along as history is made.,

It was amazing watching C3 dock at Centeen Park in Brockville, Ontario. I am proud to be Canadian and to be able to see this ship on a once in a lifetime excursion was a great experience for my kids, husband and I.
