  Great for custom cuts but quality is only okay. If you need brisket, flank, pork belly, etc; this is the only place you are going to find it. Unfortunately, the overall quality is lacking. You used to be able to go into the Butcher Block and find AAA beef that had great marbling; it's been a long time since I have seen a Rib Eye or New York Strip worth the price. If you are buying standard cuts of meat (Rib Eye, New York Strip, etc) and want great marbling, I would wait until Safeway (or other Sobey's stores) have it on sale and get it there instead.

  Absolutely awesome local meats, including natural smoked bacon, homemade pepperoni and great chicken. There is a large freezer section with homemade frozen pies and other treats as well as whole ducks and geese, beef bones and sweetmeats.

  Very knowledgeable staff. Prices were cheaper than Canadian Tire for a lot of fishing items. Very nice environment.

  Just discovered the Butcher Block and we are so impressed. I just heated up the steak and veggie pie and it was so delicious. Not too salty and the gravy flavor was excellent. We have another one in the freezer and we look forward to eating it soon.
  We are hooked on the Butcher Block from this day forward.

  I have been buying meat from The Butcher Block for more than 20 years. I've never had a bad product from them and I've always been impressed by their staff. Everyone is friendly and helpful and the store is always clean. The value for your money is always good and if there's something you want but don't see, just ask for it - they'll find a way to get you what you want.
