Data Science has rapidly expanded in the last two years, with Machine Learning Engineers, Big Data Engineers, and Data Scientists ranking amongst the top emerging positions on LinkedIn.
Data science is “inherently multidisciplinary,” as John Foreman, MailChimp’s Vice President of Product Management, once said, explaining why Data Scientists were “kind of like the new Renaissance folks.” The field draws on elements of computer science, statistics, and mathematics; a unique blend that is not typically covered in university degree programs.
When it comes to transitioning into a career in data, one group of professionals may be in better position than most: Developers.

The legalization of Cannabis in Canada has planted the seed for an explosion of new jobs across many industries, and tech is certainly no exception.
Deloitte forecast that legal cannabis could represent a $22.6 billion industry and add 150,000 jobs over the next several years, and with expectations that Canadians will spend as much as $7 billion on cannabis in 2019, it’s not unreasonable to expect even more budding entrepreneurs and companies entering the market in search of opportunity.
For job-seekers curious about the cannabis industry, the pastures have never been greener.

It might have felt like Toronto’s tech transformation happened overnight, but it’s been years in the making. During the initial burst of growth, experts say, data professionals weren’t always top-of-mind for companies looking to establish a digital presence. As those digital strategies have matured, however, the need for people who truly understand data has grown rapidly. In fact, the same international CBRE report that found that Toronto was North America’s fastest-growing tech hub also reported an 81.7 percent growth in employment in the city for the job category that includes data professionals. I recently completed the Digital Marketing course and had a really positive experience. Jordan was a great instructor, and often sent us additional articles to review to get us ready for or add-to what we would be learning in class. The guest teachers were also really helpful - I really valued learning from people that were experts in their field. Now, this course is a 10 week part time thing - so know that some topics are bigger than can reasonably be covered in that time. Be prepared to do some additional research on your own, but again that is what the instructors and guest instructors will prepare you for. As someone without a traditional marketing background but that is reasonably savvy about the digital landscape, I did just fine and took away a lot of great information from this course.

This school is utterly useless, save you money. All i saw was the instructors helping the attractive girls in the class and other left high and dry. Immature staff and unprofessional. All these 5 reviews are fake from employees. STAY AWAY!!!

BrainStation is inspiring and cultivating a community of creators! What I was most impressed about throughout the 10 week Product Management course that I recently finished, was the fact that every Tuesday night I learned and worked together with my classmates on ideas, concepts and strategies that I could directly apply to my what I was doing at work the next day. The energy and passion from the instructors really shone through and helped to motivate the class to think deeper than just the creation of a product as an idea, but to think even further as a product that solves a very specific problem for a very specific target persona. I loved the hands on approach, had a wildly diverse group of classmates, and am now putting what I have learned in this course into application at work.

BrainStation's full-time immersive web-development course has been one of the most challenging and rewarding educational opportunities I've experienced. The instructors are extremely articulate and patient, the curriculum is well thought out, and I'm so proud of my new skills!
What I'm most impressed with, is that students are taught HOW to learn. As the landscape of web development is always changing, the importance of understanding how to teach yourself new languages and tricks of the trade will directly relate to your success.
I highly recommend diving into BrainStation's full-time program. Bonus: they have awesome workshops to brush up on complimentary skills too!response / report this review -
