The very pretty beach is diminished by the abhorrent stairs. My legs were shaking on the descent near the bottom and I had to take a break three times on the subsequent ascent so my heart didn't pop.
Maybe I'm out of shape, but even fit people will have difficulty with the sheer staggering angle.
Awesome place to take the kids to play in the sand i loved it
This is a steep and scenic set of stairs through lovely Westcoast rainforest down to the beach. It is popular with locals and visitors. It is also good for a stair running or climbing workout.
Out of the way and there are 257 stairs to go down on and then back up but if you go during low tide you will be able to collect as lot of stuff like crabs and shells. Well worth the short drive off the highway
It's nice, but too many rocks and not enough sand
Great beach at low tide to walk and enjoy the sun.
Easy exercise, good view.
Just a wooden staircase to the beach. Nothing special
Blueback offers one of the hardest stair climbing workouts in all of Nanaimo - there are over 200 steps to trek down and back up again. It's well worth the trip to get to the beach access however, and best to visit during low tide. The stairs do need a bit of work, and can be slippery when wet, so watch your step.
Great stairs leading to a beautiful ocean panorama.
Amazing a must visit in Naniamo! It's a bit of a hike down but we'll worth the effort!
