Absolutely super service.
I had been trying to buy a MinnKota trolling motor of an unusual model for as week and a half (see below for my problems), including shipping to a town North of Edmonton. I finally found the BassPro listing and called Matthew in marine department. He showed one in stock but took the trouble to go into inventory to make sure it was there. He did the paperwork and reserved it, but couldn't accept payment as the credit card authorization for out of store shipping had closed for the day. Next morning, I spoke to Dominic and he arranged all the details, and asked about shipping. Within a short time, Colleen called with the quote for Purolator (at a very reasonable price), and we completed the sale. I checked with the marine department again about 2:00 pm, and Ken took the trouble to verify, and said it had already left. It arrived the net day at my address about noon. How often do you get service that good and prompt? Every person was very helpful.
To contrast with the others I spoke to, Minnkota list several dealers within 250 miles of Edmonton: Cabelas, Fishin' Hole, and Wholesale Sport (but not Bass Pro in Calgary, and that's why I didn't contact them in the first round). Here is my experience with them (in no special order):
- we don't stock that model and don't do special orders.
- we don't stock it at this store, but I'll try to get a quote. Maybe it costs $xx. I tried their online. After a few days the called was returned with a quote (high), plus special shipping charges, plus a 5 to 10 day wait.
- we don't stock it. I don't know about special orders, you'll have to talk to a store. I don't know about special orders, call again. I don't know if we can special order, let me check again. Yes, someone is checking and will call. Still no reply.response / report this review -

The store manager Jason is better suited to be a prison guard than a store manager.
He displayed a total lack of any sense of customer service while talking to us.
Can't believe how low BassPro customer service has become. A far cry from what it used to be.
Edit: General manger contacted me via BBB and was able to resolve the issue to my satisfaction. 4 stars now.response / report this review -

Associates unsure of product availability and location. We were sent in so many directions and found what we were looking for ourselves. Socks and soup if you can believe that!

Brasspro is a great outdoor sporting store, it caters all aspect of o/d activities, boating, fishing, camping, hunting, hiking. Not needed to mention all the wild life display in store, a great place to take kids to learn about wildlife other than going to the zoo.
Other than local people shop there, a lot of tourist visit the store just to see the display.
Staff are very helpful & friendly, keep up the good work, Brasspro, you are my favorite place to shop & have my coffee.response / report this review -

My wife and I went to Bass Pro twice this spring to purchase a pontoon boat. We got NO Customer Service whatsoever. We purchased a $27,000 pontoon boat from Alberta Marine in Nanton and received great service. Last summer we went to purchase a Jon Boat at Bass Pro, and again NO Customer Service. We purchased in Red Deer.

Terrible store. Mispriced a gun on the tag and refused to honor it. I'd avoid shopping there. Also wholesale sports store has MUCH better prices on most items. As a bonus the customer service at wholesale sports fantastic, unlike Bass pro manager Eric!

Great place to go in the winter time when it's really cold out! It's pet friendly so you can bring your dogs. Great way to practice manners and socialization!

Wanted to inquire about purchasing a gun. The rule with this place is get there early. I did this Saturday morning, went straight to gun department. Two guys working, helping two customers,no one waiting. 15 minutes later, same two employees talking to same two guys about the weather. Now there are 20 people waiting. 5 minutes later i leave, no help, no rush. Really should look at smaller gun shops.

Absolutely huge store with an equally huge selection of pretty much everything you could think of relating to the outdoors. And a fish tank! You could spend a whole afternoon, at least, just wandering around. Additionally, it's located within an outlet mall with a great selection of shops
