I love the Barrie public library! I have been coming here my whole life (although that's not very long) and there is a lovely selection! If you are looking for a book in a popular series it is most likely there! In fact I noticed that in one series I read they actually bought a book the day after it was published. Talk about AMAZING!!!

My kids love the kids area they have upstairs plenty of current titles for tv and books as well as interactive displays and stations they offer wifi access too. Comfy atmosphere. Parking is paid they have a drive up return slot

I love this place. A quiet place to read or just think, but there's lots of activity too. The displays are always interesting and helpful. Very knowledgeable staff.

Lots of sketchy people around at all times, my kids are frightened by the many police dealing with rough teens and homeless, I visit once a week for many years. Helpful staff, good resources, would.be a five star if not for the many inner city problems.

All atmosphere, no books. One of the poorest "shelf" collections I have ever seen for a city this size.
Many books are only available
as e books, which are hard to
access and poorly written instructions. Terrible business book collection and rarely have the latest titles.

Its a nice library but it seems to be the hang out spot for homeless teenagers and adults. I find myself surrounded by homeless teens and adults who spend their days sitting in spots where other people could be sitting to do actual work. They take up the space of someone who comes to the library for its uses. Also lots of drama going on, always cop cars and teens smoking with piercing screaming and crowded at the entrance. Not welcoming, but rather sketchy. Friendly staff, stressful environment.

Very helpful staff. I was unsure if I would find a technical reference to suit my needs but was pleasantly surprised when I found the perfect book. Also they have a kids workshop called the tinker(room?) Which has a 3D printer. That is just awesome. The teens even get their private section where adults aren't allowed. I think that is neat.

A fine modern library, offering both computers for internet access; desks with local WiFi and, generally, access to a single power outlet; and, amongst other highlights, a nearby coffee and concession stand. Generally busy and largely occupied, the peace is kept and ambient volumes are not terribly excessive. Staff were, upon my visits in late 2016/early 2017, among the friendliest ever encountered. Located very near the heart of downtown Barrie, across of a Service Canada government building, it is in easy walking distance of nearby restaurants and the town's bus station.

It is a great place to be able to get some quiet and the resources you need for school work or some leisure time. I do agree, every time I have gone in there the staff at the front are reluctant to stop their conversations to assist you and when they do they look at you as if you are doing something wrong. Other than that it is a pretty good library.
