Everytime I go into this Pet store it is filthy. The fish area is the worst the tanks are dirty and always several dead fish are in them

Employees are fantastic and knowledgeable, the owner is super knowledgeable as well but should rethink dealing with customers himself. Good thing he hires great staff

The better pet store of the city! Their selection is pretty limited for parrots, but between here and the other pet stores around town, I am able to find everything I need. Animal World is ALWAYS my first stop when it comes to anything let related!

I had never shopped at Animal World, but I had stopped in a few weeks earlier with a friend and noticed they had a great selection of pet doors, so when my pet door fell apart, and I was left with a gaping hole in my back door in the middle of winter, I went there to buy a new one. I got one that was around the right size, figuring I could cut my back door to fit it. Turns out my back door is made of metal, and I don't have anything that could cut it, so I went to return the pet door, hoping I could figure something else out.

That's when I met Rob, who noticed that, based on the dimensions of my old pet door, it was made by a company that no longer exists. He went on to explain I was going to have trouble finding a door that was that exact size, but it turns out cutting a metal door is super easy if you have the right tools. Which, while I know nothing about tools, I told him I'm pretty sure we don't own. He said, "No problem, you can borrow mine." A guy I had never met who didn't even know my name just handed me his grinder and explained in careful detail how I could get the door cut without killing myself. In short, I now have a beautiful pet door where a giant hole used to be.

Overall, Rob was extremely knowledgeable and helpful and didn't treat me like I was a total idiot, even though when it comes to power tools, I absolutely am. Highly recommended!

I went to Animal World looking for a specific product. While I was browsing the shelves and making friends with the store cat an employee approached me to ask if I needed help. He referred me to a product but also conferred with a second employee to make sure he was recommending the correct one. They took the item to the cash register for me while I continued to look around. The first employee approached me a second time and said he'd been reading the label on the bottle and gave me some suggestions about how best to use the product.
The entire experience was low-pressure, easy, and friendly. Great staff, great store!

Staff takes their time to gather as much information as possible before suggestions are made regarding everything from your pets, pond supplies, etc. Newer staff are open and honest about what they may not know and will have your questions answered by Rob or senior staff. I personally do not see a significant price difference in the majority of their products, and they will try hard to work within your budget to do the best for you. Not being a chain store, they have no vested interest in pushing or promoting items for the sake of corporate profit.

At the risk of sounding maudlin, they share your caring and enthusiasm for your pets, from the time they come into your life to the time you are forced to say good-bye.

Rob is the man, great customer service and product knowledge. Any advice I need I get. Bought a fishtank with all the trimmings, I got all the help I needed. This guy knows his stuff. You get the full treatment with this shop.
