  Many of our clients that are playing the role of Caregivers - and that are in dire need of respite - are facing resistance towards external assistance from their loved ones. Indeed, the provision of in-home assistance and care by a "stranger" may be perceived as an intrusion in their private life. We have a few tips to help you cope with a loved one's refusal to obtain in-home assistance.

  Après le Japon, le Québec est la société qui connaît le vieillissement le plus rapide. En 2011, les personnes âgées de 65 ans ou plus représentaient 15,7% de la population. En 2031, elles en représenteront plus de 25%, soit un québécois sur quatre.

  Nous aurons donc de plus en plus un immense besoin de préposé(e)s aux bénéficiaires pour s'occuper de nos aînés. Les PAB sont essentiels au bien-être de nos aînés: ils les écoutent, divertissent, accompagnent, évaluent, réconfortent, soignent. Ils et elles sont essentiel(le)s à notre société.

  Il faut encourager les jeunes et les moins jeunes à choisir cette vocation et (surtout!) faire tout en notre pouvoir pour qu'ils s'épanouissent dans leur travail! 💙
